Actually, when they had to correct something, they did two things: 1) they referred to O.T. scriptures for foundational background, just like the Senate and the Supreme Court would do, and 2) they legislated a new law/amendment, just as Senate and Supreme Court would do. The OT was used, true for an anchor reference when making the Church. The Apostle's did however go around writing letters, sending them from Church to Church to read, making copies for all Churches to have for themselves. This is why you have so many transcripts of the Bible now.
AMEN!
Trevor,

They legislated a new law? LOL! dude, where do you get your information from? What new law apart from what's written in the Torah did they bring in? The Apostles wrote letters, for the most part, to sort out issues, which is evident in their letters. They did not create anything new in their letters that was not in Torah & the Prophets, or Torah disagreed with. Torah was their government within the Churches.
Apostles do have such governmental authority granted by GOD Himself:

- Job 22:21-28 "Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee. Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart. If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles. Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks. Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defense, and thou shalt have plenty of silver. For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God. Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows. Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways."

1st Corinthians 7:17-40 "But as God hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches. Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised. Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God. Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.
Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather. For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord's freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ's servant. Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men. Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God. Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful. I suppose therefore that this is good for the present distress, I say, that it is good for a man so to be. Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife. But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you. But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none; and they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not; And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away. But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord: But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife. There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband. And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction. But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry. Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well. So then he that giveth her in marriage doeth well; but he that giveth her not in marriage doeth better. The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord. But she is happier if she so abide, after my judgment: and I think also that I have the Spirit of God."

Acts 15:24,28 "Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:.....For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;

All these verses and more indicate a Government established by GOD the FATHER and the LORD JESUS Christ who are capable of using GOD-given wisdom to make decisions for the Church as a whole. If they had no authority to do such, then 1) the meaning and authority of an Apostle would be null and void and they would be figure heads, with the Prophets being the true authority under Christ, and/or 2) there would be no need for WISDOM. Wisdom is used to make decisions within the Kingdom that does not go against the will of GOD. So long as a decree (which always has and always will mean a law/order given) does not go against the will of GOD, the FATHER will allow it. We have the mind of Christ, therefore we are capable of being kings and priests. JESUS is not our "puppet master". By thinking such you defeat HIS purpose of us having free will and using wisdom, which is a gift of the Spirit of GOD (1st Corinthians 12).
This bears repeating

JESUS is not our "puppet master". By thinking such you defeat HIS purpose of us having free will and using wisdom, which is a gift of the Spirit of GOD (1st Corinthians 12).

Amen! that was the purpose of our redemption, to give us freewill, I love Jesus not because of the law, but because of the love I have for HIM in my heart.
I love Yahushua because he fulfilled the purposes, which Abba had for his life in the flesh. I love Abba for thinking enough of us to send His Begotten Son to teach us to live according to His torah and for teaching us to understand it in spirit, so that we can repent and live not die. This is why Yahushua died for us... because we did not live according to Torah. He died for our sins... what is sin... disobedience to the law (Torah). Abba gave us a second chance by allowing His son to die.

Sis, Abba asked that you write his law in your heart. Yahushua is the law... for he is Abba's Word made flesh, died, and resurrected. If you love Yahushua in your heart, you must love Torah for they are one in the same. Shalom and Ahava.
I love HIM because HE first loved me.

The bible speaks of silly women without reference to age, you too old to be tossed to and fro by every wind and doctrine.

And according to you guys belief aren't you out of order here trying to teach these men?

According to what some of those that share your belief, Moreh for example?
I suppose Yahushua taught you your mannerisms as well. Sister, you are so close to Truth. I pray that you flee your Greek Jesus where you would carry such a title and speak in such a manner and come to Yahushua....

Please read the Sermon on the Mount and recieve the teachings of the scriptures that you claim as one you believe. You must write these teaching on your heart and then the Holy Spirit can control the rudder that flows from you. Please re-read my above statements and ask Abba, if any statement is not true. I am praying for you and I forgive your statement and name calling int he Name of Yahushua. I believe you will journey in wisdom and in spirit and in truth... HaleluYah!
Sis, each of my responses were to you and you are not a man. Now, I must also say to you that unlike many of all religious walks.... I follow the commands of Abba.. I see Paul different from what many see Paul.

Each of our journeys will be according to our cry out to Abba. Just as Christians vary in understanding, Muslims vary in understanding, Hebrews too vary in understanding.

I am praying that each of us are striving with all that is in us to hear what thus saith YAHUWAH, THE MOST HIGH! Nothing else matters for Abba is everything to me... If that sounds silly, call me silly. Shalom..
Evan,

True, but by practicing Torah, you are showing Yahweh that you love him(Duet 6)
Question

James, what significance does the Holy Ghost have in your life?

Got you a new pose on huh?
Evan,

Aww, you know I appreciate you my big sis. What significance does the Ruach Hakodesh have in my life. He has a great one. Yeshua isn't here, and He promised that the Ruach Hakodesh would come and help us.

The Ruach Hakodesh helps me to keep Yahweh's Torah. He keeps me motivated tp keep it. He teaches me the trues of Yahweh. He helps me understand Yeshua, and grow more and more in him. He comforts me when I think I may not be saved. He speaks with me all the time.
