Sex ( Why are Christians afraid to have honest discussions about it?)

Sex, historically has been a bad word in the body of Christ, I mean from the stand point of having real, honest and open conversation about it from a biblical, emotional, sensual and natural point of view. However, christians, including pastors seemingly have more problems with sex than those who practice sin as a lifestyle. We who are called to uphold a standard for the world have just as many if not more problems around sexual issues than the world.

We MUST have deeper, wiser and more real discussion, teaching and preaching concerning this issue so that people will be well informed so that each of us can make decisions that help us to marry partners that have the same sexual desires, appetite and inclination as long as they remain within a frame that God can honor. God does not want us to have frigid sexual relationships with a spouse but He also doesn't want an anything goes sexual relationships. He wants us to have balance yet more freedoms than the church has been willing to discuss. Hopefully this will decrease the number of divorces in the church.

I grew up in the C.O.G.I.C. Church. They use to have a class called, "How to live a single life and how not to wreck your marriage". I don't know if they still do but they covered every sexual topic imaginable for both the single and the married. I was young but I cued in on the rights and the wrongs, the do's and the don'ts. I think this would certainly decrease the divorce rate and the rates of fornication. If we understand how sacred and holy our sexual lives should be then I think there would be an influx of marriage and less divorce.

Teaching young men and women how to court and fall in love and be Led of the Spirit is key in their sexual behaviors. Without giving to much information about myself, I will say that my husband and I are best friends and that God made us for each other. His parents had him in their old age, (his dad in his 60's and mom almost 50) and I always tell him that the Lord had to get one more Banks man out Just for me. We feel like each others twin at times even though there is a big age gap. God places a special meaning on a Godly relationship which is why he compares this to the church as his bride (he calls it a mystery)

That being said, our sexual lives as Christians loses power when we step outside of the order of God. God has blessed my union with brother Banks because we aren't afraid to talk about anything. Too many churches keep away from this subject because so much lewdness has entered the realm of Christianity. In order to recover from all of this, we need more Mother Gordons and Mother Williams to teach our young women and more elders to teach the men. Bring back the classes. Amen
Favas and Health Issues
Some people should stay away from fava beans. There is a rare disease, called favism, which affects some people of African, Mediterranean or Southeast Asian descent. They have severe allergic reactions to eating the fava bean or inhaling its pollen.

On a more positive note, some think favas may help in treating Parkinson's disease, and others use them as a natural alternative to Viagra. Fava beans are rich in L-dopa, a substance used to treat Parkinson's. Some link L-dopa with libido. Consult your doctor.
Bishop,

YES SA!
AGAIN WE MUST STOP TRYING TO SPRITUALIZE EVERYTHING..I HAD RESEARCHED AND LIKE BOTH OF YOU I THOUGHT THAT IT MEANT SOMETHING ELSE AS WELL UNTIL I CONSULTED ORTHODOXED JEWS AS WELL AS OTHER THEOLOGIANS AND THEY ASSURED ME THAT THIS IS WHAT IT IS AGAIN I AS THAT YOU SCRUTINIZE IT FRO YOUR SELF,,PLEASE ADMONISH BOTH OF YOU DONT BE SUBJECTED TO PRE-CONCEIVED IDEOLOGY OF CHRISTIANITY,,CHECK IT OUT YOUR SELF IN DETAIL!!!BROTHER PIERCE YOUR DONT LIKE THAT I CALL IT WHAT IT IS?THIS IS THE PROBLEM AND ONE OF THE REASONS CHRISTIANS RUN TO THE HEBRAICS BECAUSE OF LACK OF TRUTH
Sex was God's idea!! God Almighty is the Creator of all things: the earth, the sun, the sea and all life therein, the galaxies in their infinite grandeur, and our bodies. He designed us male and female, and designed that the consummation of physical attraction and love result in the propagation of children. Sex and family was His idea!
Our culture and so many of us have so mutilated God's plan for sex and marriage that we have no idea of what sex and marriage should be like: we are content to drift in the shifting waves of an uncertain ocean. We have grown so accustomed to making our own way without regard to God or His Word, that we can't even see our malady anymore, much less our remedy. Just as a fish doesn't know that it is in water, we don't even realize how saturated we are with sin and how far we have drifted from God's plan for sex and marriage.
