Is The Trinity Biblical?
From the Christian Research Institute
www.equip.org
The Trinity is a basic doctrine of orthodox Christianity. Yet the word "Trinity" is not found anywhere in the Bible. Is the doctrine of the Trinity really biblical?
The doctrine of the Trinity says that there is one All Mighty One (God) who exists eternally as three distinct persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I can assure you that the elements of this doctrine are all taken directly from the Bible.
The first plank of the Trinitarian platform is that there is only one All Mighty One (God). The Bible could not be more explicit on this point, which it states explicitly about two dozen times. In Isaiah 44:8 Yahweh (The LORD) says that even He does not know of any other (mighty ones)gods!
Yahshua (Jesus) often spoke of the All Mighty One (God) as His Father, and the apostles frequently spoke of "the Almighty One (God) the Father." But the New Testament also insists that Yahshua (Jesus) is The Almighty One (God). For example, Thomas acknowledged Yahshua (Jesus) as, "My Lord(master) and my Almighty One (God)" (John 20:28), and both Peter and Paul spoke of Yahshua (Jesus) as "our All Mighty One (God) and Savior" (2 Pet. 1:1; Tit. 2:13). Yet the New Testament also makes the distinction between the Father and the Son as two very different persons. In fact they tell us that they love one another, speak to each other, and seek to glorify each other (e.g., John 17: 1-26).
The Old Testament refers often to the Holy Spirit as The Almighty One (God) at work in the world, without distinction from the Father. But Yahshua (Jesus) in John 14 to 16 explained that this Holy Spirit would be sent by the Father at the Messiah’s (Christ's) request. The Holy Spirit would teach and guide the disciples, not speaking on His own initiative, but speaking on the Messiah’s 9Christ's) behalf and glorifying The messiah (Christ). Thus, the Holy Spirit is revealed by The Messiah (Christ) to be a third person distinct from the Father and distinct from the Son.
In short, the doctrine of the Trinity is completely and totally biblical, and it is essential that all the Followers of the Messiah Yahshua (Christians) give assent to this doctrine.

Please give a scriptural or cultural (preferrably both) explanation of Jesus being seated at the right hand of God.
Yes, it is true that the trinity is Christian doctrine. What isn't true is Christianity being BIBLICAL. The Religion of Roman Emperor Constantine ( founder of Roman Catholic Church ) is the Latin version of Ancient Egyptian Christianity with it's Trinity of Osirus , Isis and Horus .Egyptian Christianity is a replica of Babylonian Christianity founded by Nimrod, the rebel.
Emperor Constantine "HAD A VISION" which said with the sign of the CROSS he would conquer....From the conquests of Emperor Constantine till now the " cross " is The sign of Christianity. So, what about the "cross" symbols of Egypt ? Cross symbols of Babylon ? If Sha'ul ( paul ) would be here today, i would interpret Christianity to be Pagan in Origin.
What Black people ( Children of Israel ) need to understand is Christianity is the religion of Our oppressor and YHWH said that He will redeem Israel so that we wont have to lean on the Gentiles ( europeans ) anymore.
The so called Bible never promotes Christianity but Nazarite.
Hi Sharpspear. I have a question. You said:

What Black people ( Children of Israel ) need to understand is Christianity is the religion of Our oppressor and YHWH said that He will redeem Israel so that we wont have to lean on the Gentiles ( europeans ) anymore.

are all Black people considered Chldren of Israel? I ask because some people that I have communicated say yes ALL Black people are considered Children of Israel. I guess I need to know what qualifies a person to be "Black"
While what you said was informative, you still haven't answered my questions.

You took a "left turn" and strolled away from my various questions that I posted here today.

I wonder if Egyptian Copts would have much to say about your pretense.
WHY WAS THE FIRST VERSE IN PLURAL WHEN TALKING ABOUT CREATING THEN WENT TO SINGULAR WHEN THE CREATION TOOK PLACE

Genesis 1:26-27 (King James Version)

PLURAL

26. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

SINGULAR

27. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

IF 3 WERE INVOLVED IN THE CREATION THAT SECOND VERSE WOULD HAVE READ AS FOLLOWS:

(MOCK VERSE)
27. So THEY created man in THEIR own image, in the image of THEM created THEY him; male and female created THEY them.

HOPEFULLY THIS MAY HELP IN UNDERSTANDING THAT ONLY ONE CREATED ALL NOT THREE. THAT WOULD MEAN THAT THERE ARE 3 GODS.
That was a good Search engine cut and paste job my friend.

The only problem with your mock verse is that you didn't do it for both verses. All you proved is that the pronouns used in both verses don't match.

One could easily create a mock verse for vs 26 so that it matches vs 27

You still haven't explained the use of the pronoun tenses in the first verse.

So let's use your same logic and create another "mock" verse

Why doesn't Gen 1:26 read:
Then God said, Let ME make man in MY image, according to MY likeness.

You haven't really proved a point bcuz you have only dealt with one of two scriptures.

My question still stands

Why was US, and OUR used in Genesis 1:26?

Another question is are there "mock" verses in your bible? Do you hhave "us" and "our" in vs 26??
Hello Tracy,
Now you know I don't have mock verses in my bible, I just thought it would be interesting to see if we kept it plural what would we come up with. It is just an illustration.

I have seen explanations as to who God was talking to in verse 26 so this is why I used 27 for the illustration. Many have (SPECULATED) not concluded, that God was talking to his counsel of angels. Especially since the holy ghost had not yet come and the Body of Jesus had not yet been prepared. So, then the plural would mean that there were 3 Gods in heaven and that they would have had to been in Spirit form not bodily. Also, Because God is a Spirit many say that Jesus is God (The Father) manifested in the flesh, seeing that flesh and blood do not dwell in heaven. And as for the Holy Spirit, this is said to be God (Jesus) dwelling in us.

Tracy, I fully understand the Trinitarian Doctrine, I was trinity for most of my life. But the only thing we were never able to explain to others is why we say that The godhead is 3 distinct persons but we believe that there is only one God.

Distinct means different. So how can the Godhead be 3 different (distinct) persons yet be ONE GOD?
Don't you think cutting and pasting is a lot easier than typing. (smile) I use bibleway or crosswalk to research scripture. It is much easier than typing every single word.
LOL. Aint That the truth. You know I had to tease you about it Sis.

Its date night for me and Leigh-Bear (hubby). I'll talk to you later.
Enjoy yourselves and have a wonderful evening. (smile)
SOMETIMES JESUS INTENTIONALLY HIDES HIS MEANINGS THROUGH THE MYSTERY OF PARABLES.

Matthew 13:10-16

10. And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

11. He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

12. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

13. Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

14. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

15. For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

16. But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

At an appointed time in all of our Lives, God gives us a deeper understanding of his word through Revelation. In our seeking, as I see many doing here on BPN, God enlightens our understanding of his word as if a light has come on. Initially, things are intentionally hidden from us as illustrated in the above parable. Jesus, intentionally spoke in parables that the truth might be hidden. So since God is the same yesterday today and forever, we can see varying views through out the scripture. This is why the word says in all thy getting get understanding. It also says, study to show thyself approved. I think what the Lord is doing, is causing us, (you and I and others) to get into his word and digest it. He starts to reveal things in our seeking. DRAW NIGH UNTO GOD AND HE WILL DRAW NIGH UNTO YOU. (Praise the Lord)
Very well Said Sister EW. This is my prayer for Hungry people to Know Him Today.
