Is The Trinity Biblical?
From the Christian Research Institute

The Trinity is a basic doctrine of orthodox Christianity. Yet the word "Trinity" is not found anywhere in the Bible. Is the doctrine of the Trinity really biblical?
The doctrine of the Trinity says that there is one All Mighty One (God) who exists eternally as three distinct persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I can assure you that the elements of this doctrine are all taken directly from the Bible.
The first plank of the Trinitarian platform is that there is only one All Mighty One (God). The Bible could not be more explicit on this point, which it states explicitly about two dozen times. In Isaiah 44:8 Yahweh (The LORD) says that even He does not know of any other (mighty ones)gods!
Yahshua (Jesus) often spoke of the All Mighty One (God) as His Father, and the apostles frequently spoke of "the Almighty One (God) the Father." But the New Testament also insists that Yahshua (Jesus) is The Almighty One (God). For example, Thomas acknowledged Yahshua (Jesus) as, "My Lord(master) and my Almighty One (God)" (John 20:28), and both Peter and Paul spoke of Yahshua (Jesus) as "our All Mighty One (God) and Savior" (2 Pet. 1:1; Tit. 2:13). Yet the New Testament also makes the distinction between the Father and the Son as two very different persons. In fact they tell us that they love one another, speak to each other, and seek to glorify each other (e.g., John 17: 1-26).
The Old Testament refers often to the Holy Spirit as The Almighty One (God) at work in the world, without distinction from the Father. But Yahshua (Jesus) in John 14 to 16 explained that this Holy Spirit would be sent by the Father at the Messiah’s (Christ's) request. The Holy Spirit would teach and guide the disciples, not speaking on His own initiative, but speaking on the Messiah’s 9Christ's) behalf and glorifying The messiah (Christ). Thus, the Holy Spirit is revealed by The Messiah (Christ) to be a third person distinct from the Father and distinct from the Son.
In short, the doctrine of the Trinity is completely and totally biblical, and it is essential that all the Followers of the Messiah Yahshua (Christians) give assent to this doctrine.

While I'm shaking the dust off, how about answering my questions:

-Can you be your own son?
-Are you your own father?
-JESUS make them one as we (FATHER & SON) are one. Does that mean we are all literally the same person as JESUS and HIS FATHER is the same person?
No credibility...?

If I believed in the Trinity I would have a CREDIBILITY before you.

But, I need not deserve the Trinitarians' credibility!

Because my reward comes from God.

God is my Judge ( 1 Corinthians 4:1-5).

So, feel free to shake not only the dust from your feet, but also that from your eyes so that you can see the truth: GOD IS ONE PERSON.

I LOVE YOU...

SO, I MUST PRAY FOR YOU!

DISCUSSION IS CLOSED!

Blessings,

Bro. Germain

Sister Donna,
Are you speaking to the trinitarians or oneness believers?
Ummm, the point of that comment was......?

That one may not have come out well brother
I think that all need to do some history study and understand just what Constantine did. People are making stuff up along the way. The fact of the matter is that the Trinity is not foreign to the Bible, though the actual word is. It would be outright stupid to ask the question "where in the Bible does it say the word....?" Thats a dumb question because the Bible doesn't say alot of words, but the definition is there. The Oneness doctrine is not new either, but unfortunately for Oneness doctrine believers, their doctrine falls under the "heresy" section. Constantine did not create anything, nor did he pervert the doctrine of the Godhead. The fact of the matter is this: Constantine called for the Synod.Constantine had invited all 1800 bishops of the Christian church (about 1000 in the east and 800 in the west), but a lesser and unknown number attended. Between 250 to 318 bishops attended, from every region of the Empire except Britain. Constantine was present as an observer, but he did not vote. If this was only a Roman Catholic thing or a Constantine thing, then Constantine would have voted. Though only 318 Bishops were present, very few others ever disagreed with the Council of Nicea's conclusions and adopted the doctrines.
Trevor,

Constantine was anti-semitic. Will your Church fathers tell you that?

Will they also tell you that he retained his sun-god worship, and changed the sabbath to SUN-day?

Will they tell you that he was the one that started the "cross" Phenomenon? He claimed to have seen the cross in the sky, and that was what Yeshua was killed on.. will they tell you that?

Will they tell you that Christianity, as we know it TODAY, was based on Constantine and his pagan influence?

Will they tell you that his council did not allow Hebrews, especially the Nazarenes who kept Torah and believed in Yeshua, to enter the council to discuss and vote?

And all questions please.

Shalom
Yes he was, so were many of the Church forefathers. I know this. I also know of the cross appearance event that he claimed. I also know that Sunday was deemed the official day of worship. However, I ALSO know that Sunday was deemed the day of worship a few hundred years BEFORE Constantine was alive, when Rome was killing Christians for sport. Christianity does have some influence from that era, however, it was not influenced to the point that you refer to it as not being of GOD altogether. If you ever cared to study Church history from a Christian standpoint, you would know that they teach you ALL theses things that you mentioned and MORE!!

Whats your point?
