And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the Lord, and wept sore. And she vowed a vow, and said, O Lord of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.
Today's message is from this weeks Sunday's school lesson, and as I was meditating on what to talk about, I received a confirmation from God to remind everyone that He still answers prayer. I am thankful that He does.
A brief background of today's message is that Hannah was barren, which is without a child. Hannah was miserable and bitter because of her barrenness. Hannah may have at times been depressed, but through it all, she never wavered in her faith that God would answer her prayer.
What are the takeaways from this lesson?
Today's message is to encourage all to have faith, and hope knowing that God is the same today as He was during the Bible days and still answers prayer; therefore, be patient and wait on God.
Prayers of the righteous availeth much (James 5:16b).
