PRAISE THE LORD, THIS DAY
This Day
Psalm 118:24 (Amplified Bible) This is the day which the Lord has brought about; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
There is a saying that goes “Yesterday is past, tomorrow may not come, all we have is today.” Sometimes we forget about this and because of it we do not appreciate the day that we have. For some they are so caught up in what someone did or said to them in the past that they can’t let it go. Then there are those that are so anxious about the future that say things like:, “I’ll be glad when this week is over”, even though they may just be in the first day of the week. In either of these scenarios the speaker is not appreciating what it is that they have. In both of those cases the individual is trapped emotionally and mentally in those times. They will miss out on the blessings that they can have or the blessing that they can be because they are not focusing on the present. But we are to remember that all we really have is right now-this day. The Lord has made this day and He has brought it about. He has allowed us to experience it and therefore He has something in store for us on this day. But if we cannot recognize that or appreciate that, we will miss what He has in store. There are lessons to be learned, blessings to be had and even miracles to be received. He is in the day and so whatever we need we will have His provision, grace and mercy. Therefore let us ask God that as we awake each day that we give thanks to Him for the day, ask Him give us the grace to handle what the day will bring and, open our hearts and minds to the day that we might appreciated it and with anticipation look for and experience the blessings that we will be and that we will receive in this day.
