If significance is indicated by repetition, Paul’s conversion experience is a very important event in scripture. The basic details are given three times in the Book of Acts (9:1–9; 22:1–11; 26:9–19), but we are especially thankful for Paul’s discussion of the episode in his epistle to the Galatians (our lesson text). Paul wanted to demonstrate to the church that the authority for his ministry had come directly from the Lord Jesus Christ (as a proof that his authority was greater than that of the Judaizers who were teaching that Christians must observe of the Mosaic Law). In the process Paul affirmed a truth about all genuine conversions: they are brought about by the revelation of Jesus Christ, and are not the result of human effort alone.

Not that we should minimize the responsibility of believers to share the gospel message. It is our “Great Commission” to go into the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Only redeemed men and women have been trusted with this work; an evidence of this is Acts 10, where the devout gentile Cornelius was visited by an angel in answer to his prayer to know God. The heavenly messenger was only allowed to direct him to Simon Peter. The privilege of explaining the plan of salvation is always left to a “Peter”—that is to say, someone who has been saved. As the songwriter declared: “We have a song that the angels can’t sing!”

Interestingly, Paul does not identify the human agent in his conversion in the text of his letter to the Galatian church. But, of course, we may recall that Saul had been in attendance when the deacon Stephen forcefully preached of Jesus at his trial for blaspheme (Acts 7). Perhaps the witness of Stephen did not initially make powerful impression on him, but it may have planted a seed. And there may have been yet other witnesses among those Christians that Saul pursued and arrested: saints who, as Paul led them out of their houses in chains, took the occasion to witness to him of Jesus’ death and resurrection. At the time of Paul’s conversion, he no doubt had heard the plan of salvation many times.

In the end, however, it took a revelation of Jesus Christ—as a light from heaven and an audible voice—to break through Saul’s defenses. The Lord made the testimony of others real by injecting Himself as a prime witness. This happens in every conversion—if not by the spoken words of Christ, then by the convicting power of the Holy Ghost. After the witness of believers, God Himself must intercede to complete the work of transforming grace in the heart of the new convert. Therefore, even the most celebrated evangelist cannot truthfully claim to have brought a single soul to Christ.
It is God Who revealed the Son to our hearts, so He gets all the glory! Four Beasts of Revelationtag:abcpreachers.ning.com,2009-07-28:916966:Topic:8917922009-07-28T20:25:51.515ZJohnhttps://abcpreachers.ning.com/profile/John

I don't know why unless it was the Spirit directing me into this but it stems from a lesson on a study in Revelation Chapter 4 when speaking of the four beasts around the throne. This led me to doing some studying in Ezekiel, Daniel and Numbers of visions about the four beasts.

My questioning for this blog is really about the significance of these four beasts and if their is a relationship to their faces and the tribes or should I say the four ensign/banners by the heads of camps of each of the heads of these camps. In Numbers 2 we see when Israel's Armies were numbered there was a head of each camp, one in the east side, south side, west side and north side. I noticed in Ezekiel 1 with the vision given to Ezekiel in verse 10 of chapter 1 when talking about the likeness of their faces and then gives those likenesses. In verse 7 of Revelation Chapter 4 we see the likeness of the first beast was like a lion, the second beast was like a calf, the third beast has the face of a man and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. Now in Ezekiel 1 verse 10 we get the same that says "As for the lieness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.

In Daniel 7 we see Daniel also has a vision of four beasts but they came up from the sea and not down from heaven as Ezekiel saw. I believe Daniel's beast were representations of future nations that came up against Israel with the first beast like a lion with eagle's wings being Babylon, the second beast like a bear that raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it and was to devour more flesh being Medo-Persia, the third beast like a leopard with four wings of a fowl on its back but had four heads and dominion was given to it being Greece and the last beast dreadful and terrible and strong exceedingly with great iron teeth, it devoured and brake in pieces and trampled the residue with the feet of it, was diverse from the other beasts before it and it had ten horns being Rome.

So we see the beasts that Ezekiel saw are seraphims (I believe the highest ranking angels) and Daniel's beast were nations that rose up against God. Now I see this is two different studies so I want to get back to Ezekiel's beasts so bear with me ok. Now back to Ezekiel Chapter 1 verse 10 the descriptions of the beast references Numbers Chapter 2 with the four camps and the heads of each camp led by Judah on the east side, Reuben on the south side, Ephraim on the west side and Dan on the north side.

My question is, What is the significance of the likeness of the four seraphims/beast around God's throne and these four camps of the armies of Israel? Does each seraphim protect each of the camps or are the leaders names in alignment with the likeness of each beast/seraphim such as Judah being the lion, Reuben being the man since first born to Jacob, Ephraim like the ox and Dan as the eagle? I don't know why I was led to this but it seems as though I need to find the answer to my being directed to this. As I stated it stemmed from Prophet Joe's lesson on the Churches in Revelation that led me to this and it was as though I was in a trance or just had to do this from something in my head leading me to this. I know it sounds crazy to some but that's how it is. I just know there seems to be some relation between those four beasts and the camps of Israel led by those four sons of Jacob. God bless and help me with this one if you really have been blessed with the understanding and not from your own understanding. Thanks. Further down, in Genesis 1:14-19, God made the greater and lesser lights (sun and moon), which constituted the FOURTH day. Question: How was there a FIRST evening and morning on day 1 when the sun wasn't created until day 4? What makes an "morning" and an "evening?" (Typically, it's when the sun rises and sets, but again, the sun hadn't been created yet in verse 5.) I needed a bible with a better concordance while studying yesterday, and I picked up a bible in a home where I serve as Nanny for 3 children.

Upon further inspection, I noticed it was a Catholic Bible, containing books I've heard of, but never actually read i.e. Sirach, Tobit, Baruch, the book of Wisdom and a few more.

I was fascinated reading the history of these books! In many of the description there was a notation: "this book is not recognized by the protestant faith"

If the Bible is inspired word of God given to men so that we ALL may come to know him, why aren't all the known books included in mainstream christiandom for our growth and edification? **FREE** Buttons for You!!tag:abcpreachers.ning.com,2009-02-28:916966:Topic:4784332009-02-28T15:23:24.544ZMark Seayhttps://abcpreachers.ning.com/profile/MarkSeay
