This is going to be a very har subject for some. The basis of this conversation is based on discovery of popular preachers across the TV that call themselves women and men of God.

Jesus taught in the scriptures that when a man or woman is married, except for fornication, or death they cannot remarry as long as the spouse is still alive. Paul, along with Jesus, goes on to say that if that person remarries while the spouse is still alive, is an adultery and is in a continued state of adultery as long as they remain married. Many professed Christians, such as Randy and Paula White, we in such a condition, yet they are before people trying to tell others of the Love of Christ. This is wrong on so many levels until it is ridiculus. It violates the word of God on so many degrees until the devil is getting such a big laugh in deceiving people. How can a man or woman that has been divorced and remarried, calling themselves Christians, preach or teach others about the Love of God, when their lives do not demonstrate it? How can a man or woman preach or teach about thous shall not commit adultery when they are in an adulterous relationship after being divorced and remarried? Christ did not leave room in his word for a man to divorce his wife and remarry another while she is still alive. How can u call yourself a Christian, when u are in disobedience to God's word?

how can you say that.
you need to keep reading beyond verse 8.
if God gave them a certificate of divorce why are they still his chosen people. A divorce means to separate and not to return. If that is the case he needs to give us one to because we have'nt always been faithful to him. But he still has mercy. and forgives us. He disciplines us and we remain an heir.

Jer 3:8-15
9 Because Israel's immorality mattered so little to her, she defiled the land and committed adultery with stone and wood. 10 In spite of all this, her unfaithful sister Judah did not return to me with all her heart, but only in pretense," declares the LORD.

11 The LORD said to me, "Faithless Israel is more righteous than unfaithful Judah. 12 Go, proclaim this message toward the north:

"'Return, faithless Israel,' declares the LORD,
'I will frown on you no longer,
for I am merciful,' declares the LORD,
'I will not be angry forever.
13 Only acknowledge your guilt--
you have rebelled against the LORD your God,
you have scattered your favors to foreign gods
under every spreading tree,
and have not obeyed me,'"
declares the LORD.

14 "Return, faithless people," declares the LORD, "for I am your husband. I will choose you--one from a town and two from a clan--and bring you to Zion.
(from New International Version)
"I" am not saying anything, the Scriptures themselves declare that God divorced the nation due to her unfaithfulness. Whether or not it explicitly states that God "remarried" them or not...and actually it does not say that, for if you read the Scripture God says:
12 Go, proclaim this message toward the north:

"'Return, faithless Israel,' declares the LORD,
'I will frown on you no longer,
for I am merciful,' declares the LORD,
'I will not be angry forever.
13 Only acknowledge your guilt--
you have rebelled against the LORD your God,
you have scattered your favors to foreign gods
under every spreading tree,
and have not obeyed me,'"
declares the LORD.

14 "Return, faithless people," declares the LORD, "for I am your husband. I will choose you--one from a town and two from a clan--and bring you to Zion.

In other words, God orders the prophet to deliver this message based on certain conditions: namely, that they acknowledge their guilt, as he will not be "angry forever". To my recollection, this apology never takes place and we find the nation of Israel so far from God that they don't even recognize his Son (Christ) as he walks among them in the Gospels.

My point is this: we have to be ready to give solid answers to these types of questions. While I tend to agree in principle that Israel was designated as his torch-bearer, we find them in constant state of rebellion. If you are going to argue that God does not have conditional agreements, you will have to find another proof text.

If you have a text that you would like to offer, I would be glad to consider it.
At this time I do not have anything, maybe later.

I do have a prayer request. I live in the San Diego area and ask that all those that can pray please pray for those of us down here. The fire is moving very fast. and are indangering some family members.

Lords will I wll come back with more discussion on this subject

Thank you in advance.
In all your giving of this long opinion, u still have not repented. In order for their to be forgiveness of sin, u would have to repent. U have not repented being bound to another wife, as long as your wife is still alive. Is she alive? If so u are in a condition of adulterery, and as long as she is still alive u are in violation of God's word.
In all your giving of opinions, You have been found to be a liar ( seeing as how you say that i had divorced my wife and all) Have you repented for truly you are also in violation of God's word. WOE too you who have the gumption to assume and diagnose and come off as angry seething fools. If a man/woman be divorced from their spouse, for whatever reason their be. If you cannot restore them let them be. For I am sure you have seen as I have also that God has and does bless alot of these marriages. So stick to doing what God has for you, and you do a good thing. Because in all of this you have been found to be a liar, hopefuly this was just a folly, and some fruition of the sin that lies at your door (daily), hopefuly you can and will be loosed from that lying spirit that has you bound.
Who are we too say that God doesn't work through this or that, if you commit murder it is also a sin, if you commit adultery , lie, steal, rob etc.. It is all sin, And at the sametime some of the greatest champions of our faith were/ had commited these things. Yet God blessed them, and used them too his benefit. All of us have been in violation of his word at some time or another, yet God's mercies are new everyday. Don't stick to condemnation, yey work towards edification and restoring. (or you will find yourself in violation of God's word..
Adrian, peace to u. May God have mercy on your soul. May u find the tru God and turn from your adulterous situation.

Brother Minister,

I beleive that you are in grave error in your condemnation of Brother Minister Adrian Lamar West, Sr. I am including his response to my direct question: IHAVE BEEN MARRIED SINCE JUNE 5, 1992, Too the former Lou Della Berrians, we are the proud parents of two teenage sons. I was not married before and have not ever been seperated/DIVORCED. So as i have stated before even on my BPN page. GOD BLESS YOU ALSO SIR...

You have stated quite vehemently that his relationship was adulterous. This is a direct insult to him, his wife and his children. As a man of God, I trust that you will apologize for your mistake. I don't think that comments about the harsh criticism you leveled in his direction are necessary at this point, but as ministers of the Gospel of peace, we have to set an example to all that watch. I trust that you will acknowledge your error with the same forcefulness in which you condemned him.
Please understand that marriage is a marriage whether you are saved or not saved. The scriptures apply to everyone makes no difference if you accepted the Lord Jesus Christ or not. Born again or not. The word will judge all. Amen.

Herod was not of the jewish religion when John the Baptist told him it was not lawfu for him to have his brother phillip's wife.

12 But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away. 13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. 14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. 15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace. 16 For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?

Romans 7:1-6
1 Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? 2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. 3 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

Now you have to understand that a person commits adultery and shall be called an adulterer if he or she divorce and marry someone else and the person they were married to did not fornicate on them. If your spouse did not fornicate on you, you have no bassis for a divorce. If they have, however, fornicated you have the right to forgive and keep or forgive and go it is your choice. You can forgive and not have to keep the marriage it is your choice.

If you and your marriage partner split apart and no one has committed fornication the bible says you are to remain unmarried or be reconciled.

One reason for a divorce is fornication.

irreconcilable differences is not grounds for divorce, she don't know how to cook is not grounds for a divorce, we've grown apart.....etc fornication. Amen.

1 Corinthians 7:10-16
10 And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: 11 But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

Another reason the bible says if the unbelieving depart a brother or sister is not under bondage is such cases. Meaning the marriage bond.

Now God knows all and sees all we cannot fool him. So make sure the unbeliever departed of his/her on freewill and you did not have anything to do with that decision besides wanting to live for god and they did not and preferred to leave.
welll call me nothin' who's in that situation, stop reaching and take care of your own, because many fool themselves. answer the brothers statement or move the comment. who's talking about unbelievers, the brother was trying too convey a simple message, let him and see what happens) he was speaking on a lie that was being told, are you defending the lie? if so be joined . if not let it go

My sister,

Thank you for the post, but I am inclined to side with Brother West. We are waiting for an apology from Brother Veals for his mischaracterization of Brother West's relationship with his wife. If I do not see a response soon, I am inclined to report him to the site administrator for his malicious (and completely unfounded) attack. As preachers, we have GOT to do better than this.

Blessings,

Pastor Scott McGregor
I thank you for the reply but I don't know what it is that I said that you are inclined to side with West on.

I have no clue what Adrian Lamar West, Sr. is talking about. I just put out some food for thought. Amen.
