QUESTION: Are the Old Testatment laws/requirements applicable to ministry leaders, lay leaders, or even the average Believer today?

POSTING REQUEST: When leaving your comments and responses, please ONLY post the scripture location not the ENTIRE text. We all have bibles and if we don't have them with us we can look it up online.

Example: only type John 3:16 not the TEXT of John 3:16

Thank you for participating and also adhering to my posting request.

what specifically did he "confirn in the covenant"... was it just the sacrifices as is mentioned in at the end of the verse you posted the text for in Daniel 9:26-27?

(by the way, no need to post the text.. just the location of it.. ok) Stop making people lazy Believers and let them go to the text and search the scriptures themselves

Case in point.. the passage you just posted reads much differently in other translations.

Click the link below and look at those verses in other translations.

Daniel 9:26-27

You pointed this portion out in your comment...

And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease,

Did you notice that it was for a certain time? AND that there was a breech of contract/agreement per se?
Does the passage in Daniel 9:26-27 have anything to do with the both the death of the Messiah and the prophecy of the desctruction of Jerusalem by Titus and the slaughter of countless Jews some years later?
Yes it is also talking about the destruction of Jerusalem in 70ad.
Jesus said think not I have come to destroy the law but to fulfill it. That is what Daniel was talking about when he said that he shall confirm the covenant. He would fulfill all scripture about him coming in the flesh.

That message translation is foreign to me. The king James Version is the only translation I deal with. I don't go on all of those others versions that has come after the King James version. Yeah it was at a specific time. This is how you can tell what time it is. Matthew 12:38-40 The Lord said that he would be in the grave 3 days and 3 nights right? Let's count from when Daniel said the midst of the week, which is the middle of the week, which is wednesday.
Lets count

Wednesday Night Jesus died (Half a day)
Thursday day/ night in the grave (1 day)
Friday day/ night in the grave (1 day)
Saturday day, and Saturday right before sundown (half a day)

That looks like 3 days and 3 nights to me, Let's see what tradition says
Died Good Friday, rose Easter Sunday Morning

Friday: evening Jesus died (half a day)
Saturday: day/ Night in the grave (1Day)
Sunday: Rose Sunday Morning

That looks like a day and a half to me

Read Matthew 28:1-6

Jesus was raised at the end of the Sabbath as it began to dawn towards the 1st day. So he was not raised on Sunday.

what do you think?
Wow.. you're kinda stuck in that place aren't you?

I'll wait till you go back to the topic of the discussion.

I think in the flow of the discussion ... I asked:

Does the passage in Daniel 9:26-27 have anything to do with the both the death of the Messiah and the prophecy of the desctruction of Jerusalem by Titus and the slaughter of countless Jews some years later?
Good luck Sis. Tracy on trying to get a straight answer to your question concerning Daniel 9:26-27.

I gave up on a couple of the BPN members which is why I no longer dialogue with them as of this day.

Peace,
HOPE,

It deals with the destruction of the temple. At the death of Yahushua, temple sacrifices did not cease. Thats a fact and scriptural fact.
There are no Priests today, so Priestly laws are impossible.
To answer your question. Yes, they are applicable.
ok. Thanks James.
