I do not see anything wrong with Holy Hip Hop
Brother do you know the definition of hip hop as described by it's founders? It has been described so I am interested in knowing if you know what it's founders have described it as. The same can be said for Rock & Roll. They have also given that term a definition. Many Christians didn't and don' t know which is why they have Christian Rock & Roll.

Anyways, what does Hip Hop mean James?
EW,

I have seen all of Craig Lewis' DVDs on Hip hop. I do not know what hip hop means to the founders, but to me, its music, and if I can create words that glorifying Yehwah, then I see no problem with it.
James to use the term Hip Hop is to connect ones self with a sub-culture of Satanic Music. Hip Hop Means Butt Shaking as defined by it's founders. We can not change the meaning of something that has been founded by someone else.

Holy Hip Hop is just like saying Holy Butt Shaking. What is that? It may not have been so bad if Christians just kept it at merely being a Christian Rapper, but when you attached this term Hip Hop to it you have crossed the lines of false God Worship.

Can you change the meaning of Buddha or Kali and give a Holy Christian meaning?
EW,

Let me enlighten you on something. You may not have known this or not, but Israel borrowed many things from its neighbors. Did you know that Egypt had an ark of the covenant? You can go online and view it. It resembles the biblical ark. Did you know that The 10 commandments resembles the code of hammurabi?

Did you know that many of the treaties in Torah Yehwah made with His people resemble Hittite treaties? My point is. We as Christians who listen to Christian Hip Hop is not indicating butt shaking. I dont care what you call it... Holy Hip Hop, Christian Rap, Gospel Rap, etc. Its the intents and motives of a man's heart that matters more than anything.
Well then James, I guess you told me. Why don't we all collect our Gold from all the churches around the world and build our Golden Calf and call it our Holy Calf unto the Lord. Better yet, why don't carve a bunch of images and brand them as holy carvings unto God.

I bet that won't go over well with the Lord. If what you are saying is true, we can take anything from the world and apply God as long as the intents and motives of a man's heart are exemplified. The scripture says that the heart is desperately wicked. A man's heart can produce a porno flick and say that it is a biblical love story meant to teach the people of God. Since when does man's intentions overrule God's commands.

When God said be not conformed to this world he meant that. We are not to get things from the world and REGURGITATE IT UP FOR GOD.
EW,

What would you do if the Israelites borrowed the "ark" concept from the Egyptians, and turned into something to atone for sin?
Acutally the beginnings of RAP which means to Recite A Poem, the catapult of Hip Hop has a older history then most know of. It originated centuries ago with the Griots of West Africa delivering stories rhythmically, over drums and sparse instrumentation. Such connections have been acknowledged by many modern artists, modern day "griots", spoken word artists, mainstream news sources, and ministers in pulpits.

It was the Griots that told Alex Haley the writer the account of his ancestor Kunta Kinte, they were keepers of history for their tribes,

The reason I bring the history up is because many times well meaning christians point a finger at something that they don't understand, I'm not someone to listen to Hip Hop, but when we went into those bootcamps and those young men wanted to express themselves, they did not do it singing Amazing Grace or Going up yonder,
they gave testimonies of how Yeshua was helping them through their trials in Hip Hop. I listened with unjudmental ears

Hip Hop and RAP go hand in hand, there are some traditional gospel songs with less of a message than the lyrics they spoke.

I learned that the melody in my heart may not duplicate the melody in someone elses, and if that melody sung or spoken gives glory to God, why would I a Christian come against it ?

I will say it again if we focus on teaching the word of God, and lifting HIS NAME, it will draw, and change hearts. who knows how the angels sing? just a few James, lol, just a few.
Since everyone wants to advocate and defend hip hop, why don't you all purchase the Hip Hop Bible that's been published and live by their teachings? You can not serve two masters.
EW,

How about you buy it with us!
Well, James, I am not interested in the study of hip hop as it relates to their teachings. This sub-culture was Satanically produced just like Gospel Rock & Roll, which is why the performers don't even resemble the likeness of Christ. How can you be dead to self, yet self expression is the whole basis of Hip Hop.
EW,

Dead to self means obedience to Torah, which is what I am. I love Gospel RAP. Im quite sure you probably listen to other things than your Gospel music.
