Below are some of the questions the minister address:

1. Are deliverance ministries biblical?

2. What is spiritual warfare?

3. Can a Christian be possessed by a demon?

4. Can a curse be on a Christian's life?

5. Can a Christian experiences demonic presences around them or even in them?

6. Are addictions demonic strongholds in a person's life?

7. Does the devil reall MAKE Christian's do things?

8. Can a non-Believer be possessed by a demon?

9. Can a person be possessed by a demon at birth?

10. How is a demon exorcised?

Here is another video where the minister addresses demon possession versus hauntings

Sister Tracy,

I have a lot to say on this subject but I need some time. Gotta go prepare dinner and get my thoughts together. I'll check back in later if God is willing.
Wow... not many Christians will understand when they come in the presence of an evil spirit in a place or upon a person. And even fewer will know what to do about it.

The second part of #5 was can a Christian have a demon IN them.

I was watching Pilgrim's Progress last night. This movie is a modern adaptation of John Bunyan’s powerful allegory that teaches us all the hazards and hopes of the Christian life, and it features the triumphant glory that awaits all who faithfully follow the King of kings!

Ok, now that I've "plugged" the movie, I'll say that it is has some very good points in it.

But something caught my attention and made me think of Question # 5 in this discussion.

You see, the main character's name was Christian and again this is allegory of a Christian's journey to heaven. But "Christian" experienced many things as a Christian and then reached the cross and had a conversion, burden's lifted, etc.

I turned to hubby and asked him if they were insinuating that a Christian might need salvation?

Could it be that a person who goes by the name Christian, may need to REALLY be saved?

Could it be that they only THINK they're saved and have never really truly met the Savior?

Could it be that they have had emotional experiences, the preacher preached, the music played and there was a moment when you walked down the aisle and stood before the congregation and even confessed with your mouth but didn't really believe in your heart. You went through the motions because that is what you were told to do... It became an intellectual and emotional experience much like going to a football game.

You were invited by someone to go to the game, so you accepted their invitation, bought the ticket, cheered when everyone else cheered, partook in the food and drinks but you really aren't a fan of the team. You know very little about the team that you cheered for. When you got back home, there was no desire to learn more about the team nor become a fan. You just enjoyed... the experience.

Often, "Christians" have accepted the invitation at the altar call. The hype and roar of the crowd in the church gets them all emotional and they weep... caught up in the moment. They may even "repeat" the "sinners' prayer" much like one says the pledge of allegiance with no real understanding of what a pledge is. They just do it because everyone else is doing it. They even partake in the Lord's supper and in fellowshipping with the saints, but aren't really in a relationship with Christ. They know the people who know HIm but don't really know Him for themselves.

See, we think demonic possession is only that thrashing and slobbering that was seen on the Exorcist. FEAR is s spirit that manifest itself in many people.

FEAR of being rejected will cause someone to go through the motions and act saved instead of truly receiving salvation.

FEAR of being wrong will keep many from truly accepting who Christ is and what He's done. They don't want to do the "Christianity thing" and die and possibly be wrong. "What if the other religions are right?"

It is this same spirit called FEAR that will grip a Christian and cause them to hide, doubt, fight, rage, become a hypocrite, and so many other things.

So again, can the light of Christ who is the light of men abide in a man who has FEAR?

Do you stop being a Christian while FEAR is present and then go back to being one once it is gone?

(and remember, I am not talking about reverential fear or respect, I'm talking about FEAR as in paranoia)
they are act my in-laws house also
Sister Tracy:

I must say first of all that I do believe in deliverance ministries because I have seen demons cast out, however there are some that are playing with fire. Some I don't believe are operating in the Spirit of God which is why the demons show no respect.

Case in Point:

Acts 19:14-16

14.And there were seven sons of one Sceva , a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

15.And the evil spirit answered and said , Jesus I know , and Paul I know ; but who are ye?

16. And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

When you speak under the authority of the Holy Spirit, there is no need to scream, holler and spit bubbles at the demon. When Jesus and the apostles dealt with demons, they simply spoke and called the demons out. The demons feared them.

I don't believe that a Holyghost filled believer can get demon possessed but I do believe that they can be influenced by Demons. Christians can be used to try and cast a stumbling block for another Christian. Christians can be overtaken by a spirit of jealousy and allow Satan to direct them to do things contrary to God's word. A Demonic possession is a far cry different than demonic influence. Anyone can be influenced by demons, saved our unsaved but a Holyghost filled person can not be possessed.
Man you guys are posting some good points. I'll keep asking questions that I've heard from others to get your views on those topics.

I would love to get everyone's opinion of question #9: Can a person be possessed by a demon at birth?

This question comes from the scripture:

Luke 1:15
For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.

It is said that because there is a precedence in scripture where a person was filled with a Spirit (albeit the Holy Spirit) that a person could also be demonically possessed from the womb.

Your thoughts on this?
Likewise my brother, I don't know of any other person than John the Baptist that it is said that He was filled with the Holy Spirit in the womb. So, I guess even though there is a precedent (legal term) like Jesus was one of a kind, so it may be said of John the Baptist.

John 9:1-3

1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.

2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?

3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

Can there be persons who have afflictions from birth so that the works of God could manifest in the person for all to see... sure ... this most definitely can happen.

But could a person be allowed to be "afflicted" with demonic possession for the same reason?
Rev. Luckett,

There are soooo many things that I choose not to by my typical analytical self when it pertains to God because I rest at the point of just what you said... my finite mind can only understand only any incy weency bit of the infinite mind of God. Some secret things that we just do not fully know or completely comprehend ...well those things TOTALLY belong to God. (smile)
Sister Tracy:

I don't have any scriptural references to show that a person can be born with demonic possession but there is Rosemary's Baby and Fred Kruger. LOL

All kidding aside , there are movies that portray this, there is some truth to this. According to medical studies, sociopaths are usually born with this. They are born killers. Although doctors call it a medical condition, this is all they know to call it. But when you consider that fact that the bible says we are born in sin and shaped in iniquity, a person can be born with a root of sin that could spark anything. This so called medical condition to me is a spiritual condition. Demonic Spirits that causes one to have murdering capabilities. Notice how most sociopaths have a disconnection from emotion and usually don't feel any remorse from their actions. While I do believe that some can develop this after birth from being or suffering from their own abuses, most are born this way.

The same can be said for those that are born homosexuals. They were conceived in sin as the scripture says so therefore any sin can be manifested in the flesh of this newborn. This is just my opinion so please everyone put away your stones and bricks. LOL
LOL.. Sis, no one is going to stone ya! I know there are some on the network here who come into forums with stones the size that only a dinosaur on the Flintstones could carry LOL.. But you all you have to do is wait and their glass houses will be revealed.

I will be the first to say that I am righteous as a result of what Christ Jesus did on Calvary and me acknowledging it and accepting that gift. But I'm being made perfect. I'm being made or conformed to His image because it is the will of the Father that such be done.

I'm talkin to Bible folk.. I don't need to post the scriptures do i?... or do I??
Demonic activity in the "children of God"

Another question was raised about this particular passage:

Mark 7:25 - 30
25 For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:

26 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.

27 But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.

28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs.

29 And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.

30 And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.

In particular it was pointed out that the woman was begging for her daughter to be delivered from demonic possession. Jesus' response was the deliverance is the children's bread... the Jews. Why should he provide deliverance (from demonic possession) to someone who wasn't considered a "child of God"? She continued and asked for a "crumb".. just a little bit from the Master's table.

The question that was raised about this passage is this:

Why would "children of God" need delieverance from demonic possession? OR
Why would it be provided if it wasn't needed?

As I listened to the discussion, I noticed something about the room. In the very room where this discussion was being held, there was the presence of light AND darkness in the same room. There were corners in the room where the light was not turned on and that part of the room was dark....yet it was still part of the room.

Do I equate this to demonic possession? NO, not really, but it does help you understand why a Christian can do HORRIBLE things and commit all kinds of sins. You have the Holy Spirit within you and yet you sin... how can this be? How could there be both evil and good at work within the Apostle Paul? Romans 7 (the whole chapter as well as these two verses)

19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

The bigger question is, Deliverance Ministries... are you providing deliverance from demonic possession or influence or are you also helping people identify and deal with the "sin that dwells in them".

EVERYTHING is not a demon. As a matter of fact, very little is demonic. The majority of our problems both as Believers and the un-believing person is their refusal to acknowledge the sin in their lives AND do something about it.

What can they do? RENEW their minds, CHANGE their attitudes and actions and reactions.

Dare I say that Biblical Counseling is deliverance ministry.

Your thoughts?
Minister Tracy, I use to minister at a youth prison, TYC, Texas Youth Correctional Facility, there were more than you would imagine, children that were sired to be sacrfices for covens, as well as breeders. These children were anointed to do the enemies will and they did, that was why they were incarcerated. The one issue that had to be addressed with them in reference to their deliverance is "It's too late for me" they are brainwashed that they can never receive anything from Jesus because they belong to satan.

Now let me say as you stated EVERYTHING is not a demon. As a matter of fact, very little is demonic.

The majority of our problems both as Believers and the un-believing person is their refusal to acknowledge the sin in their lives AND do something about it.

But as believers we have to believe that evil exists because simply the Word of God says that it does and to ignore it is naive.
Oh don't get me wrong.... for a Believer to say that there is NO demonic activity is just as foolish as saying that EVERYTHING is demonic.

Both extremes are wrong.

Just as much as a person saying that a stronghold is evil. To say that a strong hold is evil to not know the definition of a stronghold.

Just as a hammer can be used as both a weapon as well as to build so, a stronghold is used by the one or ONE who created it.

Think of a strong hold as a castle or a fortress. It is part of the kingdom. It is made to keep something out as well as protect what is within.

Do you know of any mighty fortresses?? What does our Mighty Fortress keep out and what does it protects?

Evil strong holds are fortresses built to keep what out and protect what that is within?

Strongholds also have prisons within them. What prisons are within God's kingdom? What prisons belong to the god of this world?

Zechariah 9:12
Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee;

The home of these hopeful prisoners who will be released is their Stronghold.
