2 Corinthians 4:2, "But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God."

2 Corinthians 4:7, "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."

1 Thessalonians 1:5-, "For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.  And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.   "

1 Thessalonians 2:13, "For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received [it] not [as] the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe."

2 Timothy 2:15-21, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.  But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.  And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.  But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.  If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work."

2 Timothy 3:16-17, "All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."

Also read Hebrew 13 (emphasis: verses 7-17)

AFTER reading all of the scriptures, what is your answer - are you taught by man or by the Holy Ghost?

We are usually taught by men (and women) under the guidance of the Holy Ghost.
I agree; it is both men and women, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
For those who don't know or have the Holy Ghost in them, how do they know that they are being taught under the guidance of the Holy Ghost?  Especially the new babes...
All Christians have the Holy Spirit in them; so I don't understand your question!

Acts 2:38 - Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

If one repents unto salvation, they don't have the Holy Spirit at that moment, but they have just opened themselves to receive Him. But they must be filled with the Holy Ghost, which can happen anytime afterwards. But not all Christians believe this and so some do not have not been filled-some just hear His voice, but even a sinner can hear the Lord, but it is very limited.

Peter & everyone in the upper room were already believers, but after Jesus ascended, the Holy Ghost fell upon them when they all went in together-and they were all filled.

That's all.

The problem with that is Peter is at that time in the passage speaking to the unrepented Jews..Not all unbelievers!

And Peter & the other believers in the upper room?

Do we not all have to repent to be counted as believer?

Romans 2:10, "But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:"

Romans 2:11, "For there is no respect of persons with God."

2 Timothy 3:6, "All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"

I think the indwelling of the Holy Spirit discussion was on another post a few weeks ago.

Alright let state it this way:

The context of the chapter (ACTS 2) is 50 days after the Crucifixon which is Passover and the feast that follows is the feast of Pentecost had come; and you must remember the words of Jesus in the Parables of Accusation and that concludes with the Olivet Discourse (Matthew 21:20-26:16) By the way this is on Wednesday of Passion week; before his death.  Then isJesus offer of the kingdom to the Jewish leadership  and what I call the GREAT REJECTION takes place (Mat 12:8-15). In response to this Jesus gives them the sign of Jonah (Mat 12:39-45). They in response say in (Mat 27:24) His boold shall be on us and on our children!

This is the contest of Peter’s sermon see verse40 And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation!"

Peter is still talking to the same generation as Jesus was. The sermon is to Jews not gentiles.

Do we need to repent yes! But that is not the context of the chapter it is to the Jews and it still is today!

Hm. Ok.
That was easy!!!!

Greetings my brother Joseph from Wales

You are right my brother. Acts 2;38 is the fulfilment of John 3:5 where Jesus said a man had to be born of water and Spirit. Jesus message was for Jews and gentiles, salvation is for everybody

We know that Peters message to the Jews was the same message he preached to the gentiles in Acts 10 because salvation is for everybody.  we know the gospel began in Jerusalem and its supposed to go to everybody, judea, Samaria, your town and my town.

There is only one gospel and its in Acts, it's for everybody! If its good for one generation its good for the next and its good for everybody!

Paul

keep preaching Acts 238
