Yonkers wasn't my part of town when I was NY, my second home, but what Mary J Blige is doing is something special. I think her program will reach outside of New York.

I say this often, I feel all women in America & abroad as well should be given the chance to reach their full potential. Sometime it takes time for a man to fully understand that the female race is the fruit of this planet & creator of life.

I don't work for Mary J. Blige but I am a fan & support her. I hope many of you would support Mary J Blige dedication to inspire women from all walks of life to gain the confidence and skills they need to reach their individual potential.

We accomplish our mission to empower and encourage women by shaping and supporting programs that foster education, career development, strong self-esteem, and personal growth.

I'm not asking you to donate money, I'm asking you to check it out & make that decision up for yourself. For more information, visit http://www.ffawn.org

The Dr. Betty Shabazz Academy is a Youth Enrichment Program for young ladies between the ages of 11 through 14. We enrich and enhance our young teens´ education, self-esteem, and futures by way of augmenting their scholarship in math and science, their opportunities to provide service to their community, and the cultivation and maintenance of relationships in their lives. A primary goal of the program is to prepare the young ladies for full participation as leaders. The SFAC Dr. Betty Shabaaz Delta Academy's e-mail address is: delta_academy@sfalumnae.org

Heart disease isn't just a man's disease. Heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases are devastating to women, too. In fact, coronary heart disease, which causes heart attack, is the leading cause of death for American women. Black women have a greater risk of heart disease and stroke than white women. Compared with whites, African-American men and women are more likely to die of stroke.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is working with the American Heart Association to help women like you find out your 10-year risk for developing heart disease. With a few simple clicks, you can find out your risk. Why not cash in on an opportunity that could save your life?

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority
Cognizant that African Americans bear a disproportionate burden of cancer — the highest mortality rate of any ethnic group — Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority is committed to providing education on and active support of early detection as well research for the prevention and cure of breast, prostate, ovarian, colon and other types of cancers

The care and protection of children is, first and foremost, a family concern. But when teenagers have babies, the consequences are throughout society. Children born to teenage parents are more likely to be of low birth weight and to suffer from inadequate health care, more likely to leave High School without graduating and more likely to be poor, thus perpetuating a cycle of unrealized potential. As the signature international program for Sigma Gamma Rho, Project Reassurance was originally developed to provide health education, support and nurturing for expectant teen mothers and teens who are parents.  The project has now evolved to focus more on Healthy Choices, Healthy Living and Healthy Generations (H3) to help reduce teen pregnancy through a comprehensive year round program addressing the factors that lead to teen pregnancy - low self-esteem, diet and economic issues - while also providing support and guidance when it does occur.

National Marrow Donor Program
this initiative was developed to address and reduce the number of African American deaths due to a lack of sufficient numbers of race appropriate bone marrow donors. The program focuses on the education and recruitment of sorority member, affiliate and community donors.
