John 14:2 "In My Father's House are many mansions ...." Which is bigger to contain the other - a house can contain many mansions or a mansion can contain many houses? I guess its better rendered, "In my Father's house are many dwelling places (homes, abodes) as the Amplified version puts it. [Abode - G3438 in Strong's Dictionary]. In vrs 23 he says, "Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will COME unto him, and make our ABODE with him". Or we will come and make our MANSION (dwelling place, abode) with him. The same word translated "mansion" in vrs 2 is the same word translated "abode" in vrs 23. The question is who is going where? Are we going to the Father's dwelling place or He is coming to dwell in us (seeing that we are the Heavenly Jerusalem and City of God, Heb 12:22-23)?
And in Revelation it is recorded that the tabernacle (dwelling place) of God will be amongst men. The heaven is the Lord's and the earth has He given to men.
Jesus made this declaration in John 14:2 not when he had resurrected and was departing, but He made it before He died and told Mary Magdalene He was going to show himself to the Father. And thus he went and came back and breathed on them to receive to receive the Holy Spirit - thus God to dwell in them. And we know that it is through the death of Jesus that we are enabled to have God live in us.
And the dwelling place (HABITATION) of God is the Church. Ephesians 2:22 - "In whom ye also are builded together for an HABITATION of God through the Spirit".
And 1 Tim 3:15 - "But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the HOUSE OF GOD, which is the CHURCH OF THE LIVING GOD, the pillar and ground of the truth".
Clearly the house of His Father is the Church. And we are all dwelling places for Him (according to John 14:23).
In My father's house (the Church) are many dwelling places (saints) ... I am going to make a preparation for you so that the state I am in as the temple of God, you can also be. I will take you into that state.
And so he came back from showing himself to the Father like he told Mary Magdalene (John 21).
Note that after his death and knowing that he had finished the preparation for us to become the dwelling place of God, He now addresses the disciples as "My brthren", and goes on to say, "My Father and your Father, My God and your God". Wasn't God their Father before? And when He came back from the Father having finished presenting His case, now says unto the disciples, "even as the Father sent me, so send I you". Of course he had brought them to himself (the state He was in. And so proceeds to breath on them to receive the Holy Spirit. God could know dwell in them. Note that earlier Jesus had given his disciples power to go and heal. But now He is able to give them the Holy Ghost Himself because the preparation for them to receive God in them had been done.
What do you think?

Before you conclude note Luke 5:39 No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.
Will you just not accept the new without tasting (understanding) it or you will prepare a new wineskin (mindset) to receive new wine (revelation), which is not at all new. This is what existed before the current catholic belief spread all over.
