It is my concern that we as "Christians" Need to define better, what God said in the bible, and what man says about the bible.

Ask yourself?

Is the bible the inerrant Word of God? Does God change His Word! Have Christians changed God's Words and Taught erroneous Doctrine to those who have not read the Torah(First five books of the bible) in a bible they really can understand , in the language they speak; to compare what they have been taught by preachers, teachers, evangelists ????????????????

Sorry brother, can't go with opinions, ONLY the word of God. And here is what the word of God says;

Jer.17
[21] Thus saith the LORD; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;
[22] Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.
[24] And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, saith the LORD, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein;
[27] But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.

Now above is what thus saith the Lord. So even though you CANNOT find it written in the Torah, Nehemiah MUST have gotten it from SOMEWHERE that buying and selling was something he WAS NOT to do on God's Sabbath. Notice no mention of "winepresses" nor "seventh year"! Just a warning about no "bearing of burdens" of God's Sabbath day.

So brother, you can buy or sell on God's Sabbath to your heart's content, but for me and my family, unless there is an emergency, there is no need for us to conduct business on God's Sabbath day, nor cook, nor work, or ANY of the things we are directed by God not to do.

Like I said in an earlier post, if you are so blessed to be here for Christ 1000 year rule, you WILL observe God's Sabbath. And it WILL be on the 7th day of the week, just as He said it would be FOREVER!! Let's read it;

Isa.66
[23] And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
My brother, if we are being obedient to the detail of the command for the sabbath in Ex. 20: 8-11 everyone would be at rest with Yahweh on this day, therefore no business would not be taking care of as the command shows, because everyone is resting.SHALOM
And what would be WRONG with that brother? You make it sound like a BAD thing if you CAN'T conduct business on the Sabbath! We are not to be doing ANY business, unless we HAVE to, anyway! Would it mess up YOUR day if God's Sabbath was truly observed by EVERYONE? Sorry brother, that would be a GOOD thing. Everyone obeying the law of God by keeping HIs Sabbath.

If you can remember, not too long ago there were laws here in the Untited States. They were called "Blue Laws". As a matter of fact some cities still have them, although it is a very small amount. The only problem is that it was for Sunday and NOT God's Sabbath.

Here is some info about the "Blue Laws";

"A blue law is a type of law, typically found in the United States, designed to enforce religious standards, particularly the observance of Sunday as a day of worship or rest, and a restriction on Sunday shopping.

Most have been repealed, have been declared unconstitutional, or are simply unenforced, although prohibitions on the sale of alcoholic beverages, and occasionally almost all commerce, on Sundays are still enforced in many areas.

Blue laws often prohibit an activity only during certain hours and there are usually exceptions to the prohibition of commerce, like grocery and drug stores. In some places blue laws may be enforced due to religious principles, but others are retained as a matter of tradition or out of convenience.

Laws of this type are also found in non-Christian cultures such as Israel, where the day concerned is Saturday rather than Sunday, and Saudi Arabia, where the month of Ramadan is involved."

So as you can see brother, NOT SHOPPING or CONDUCTING BUSINESS on God's Sabbath is not a hard thing to do when it is done by EVERYONE. And THAT is the problem. The fact that EVERYONE does NOT keep God's Sabbath.

Just how hard is it NOT to SHOP, COOK, BUY, SELL, WASH THE CAR, HAVE A BAR BQ, or any other activity we are NOT to do on God's Sabbath?

Or how about this, tell me what's wrong with RESTING from ALL WORK on God's Sabbath?
What's wrong with having a Holy gathering on God's Sabbath?
What's wrong with spending time on a forum, such as this, on God's Sabbath?
What's wrong with taking the time out to spend with family and really TALKING about God with them, showing them examples of His LAWS, HIS WORKS, HIS GLORY, HIS PERPOSE FOR US.

So again brother what would be wrong if EVERYONE observed God's Sabbath the way HE intended?
EVERYDAY is a holy day to me- not just one day.
If you only "holy" one day a week something wrong!!!
Bishop,

The point is not being "holy" for one day a week. The point is keeping the Sabbath that Abba says keep.
Romans 14:5, "One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day [alike]. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind."

Romans 14:10, "But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ."

Romans 14:13, "Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in [his] brother's way."

Romans 14:19-20, "Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another; For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed [are] pure; but [it is] evil for that man who eateth with offence."

Romans 14:22-23, "Hast thou faith? have [it] to thyself before God. Happy [is] he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth; And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because [he eateth] not of faith: for whatsoever [is] not of faith is sin."

This is what the WORD says.

Food for Thought, My brother of the doctrine of men!

Brenice
Who declares Holiness? YOU, or GOD?

God is the ONLY one that can declare something holy! God said His 7th day is holy, so that's that.

Do me a favor and find just (1) place in the bible where God declares the 1st day of the week holy.

Understand something before answering, I'm not asking if events happened on the 1st day of the week! An event happening in the 1st day of the week, does not make that day holy, no matter WHAT the event!

I'm asking you to direct me to the book, chapter and verse that God declared the 1st day of the week as set aside, santified and HOLY!
