In psalms 30:8-9, the psalmist prayed: "Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain".

In Philippians 4:12 Paul said, "I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need".

Which of these two is your prayer? Are you going to limit yourself to praying for just enough for yourself or are you going to be instructed both to be full and be hungry? Paul has instructed me to live independent of circumstances. Neither poverty nor prosperity will change me, My poverty will not make me to sin by stealing nor will my prosperity makes me to sin by forgetting God. I don't want to play it safe, i don't want a mediocre life. I will fight poverty and dwell in prosperity and in my prosperity serve my brethren.

Remember the word of the Lord to Abraham: I will bless you and you shall be a blessing.
My true worth is not in my present circumstance. Circumstances change. Circumstances are temporary. My true worth is in the Word of God. "Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God".  It is in what God says about me that counts.  It is what God said about me i live by regardless of my circumstance.   Therefore i have declared independence from circumstances.

My true identity is in the word of the Lord. Judge me no more by my present circumstance for tomorrow you may not recorgnise me becuse my present circumstance would have made way for what is permanent in my life.  Remember circumstances change but that is the word of God lives and abide forever: While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2Corinthians 4:18.  Therefore, look no more on the clouds of circumstances which are bound to fly away and declare independence of them.  Live by the word of God.  Amen
