I. Proclaim the Announcement
The Angel brought a statement about something that’s going to happen. How exciting it is to receive a word that something wonderful is going to happen in your life. How did you feel when you heard the word of the Lord concerning you? Did you dance? Did you shout? Did you scream because you knew it was something that was so deeply needed? This great announcement may have gotten you in a posture of wondrous expectation. The problem is that right in the midst of wondrous expectation we usually have to…
II. Persevere through Adversity
Just when you get in the middle of the party, right about the time you start to share with family, friends, and loved ones what God is doing in your life. Before you can cut the cakes and conclude the festivities you’ve scheduled to share this great news, you find yourself in a state of misfortune or affliction. Isn’t it amazing how in the middle of all of the supporters, there are also critics. Surely there were those who criticized Mary for being pregnant before the wedding day. This certainly was a messy situation. There are always at least just as many people that want us to fail as there are who want us to succeed. Some of them are jealous. Some don’t like us because our personalities clash. Some of them don’t understand how we got our name on the top of the blessings list anyhow. No matter which group of opponents you face, hold fast to what has already been declared. You must know that the time is approaching for the…
I. Production of Advent
You may be in the middle of a mess, but if you change your perspective on the situation you will find that there is something that’s on the way. Many may not understand why you can be so calm when you are clearly have hard times. They might not understand why you’re not trying to defend yourself when people are talking about you, or criticizing you. It may be baffling to them why you’re not trying to straighten up the mess. They just don’t realize that you know what you’re waiting on. They have no idea that you’ve been singing to yourself, “I will trust in the Lord until I die.” Soon all will witness the arrival of that which has been awaited. While others may be fretting, you can hold on because your time of delivery is quickly approaching. The Miracle that was so pungently needed on Mess Street is coming.
I call this the Miracle on Mess Street because when your blessing arrives it will not only be a blessing to you, but it shall bless all who connect themselves to you. “…For He shall save His people from their sins.”
