My Pastor friend wants to ordain someone to be a Deacon who is not ready, What can I do ?

I have a Pastor friend who is very close to me. He wants to Ordain a man in his church who is not ready. He comes to church every now and then. Does not do anything to support the Church. His wife and children always talk about he just lays around the house and does nothing all day. My Pastor wants to ordain him and make him a Deacon hopeing he will get his act together. That is so wrong but what can I say to him with out thinking I am trieing to take over his Church?

Have you tried to compel him through the scriptures? Perhaps over a lunch you two can read 1 Timothy 3:8-13 together.
