SHOULD PASTORS BE ACCOUNTABLE TO THE FLOCK REGARDING CHURCH FINANCES?

IN MANY NEW CHURCHESTHE PARISHONERS KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE CHURCH FINANCES,EXCEPT WHEN THERE'S A NEED FOR THEM TO GIVE. SHOULD THE SHEPHERD OF THE HOUSE HAVE "CARTE BLANCH: OVER THE FINANCES, SPEND THEM AS HE SEES FIT AND NOT SHARE PERODIC BRIEFINGS REGARDING THE SAME? SHOULD HE/SHE HAVE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS REGARDING THE CHURCH FUNDS ON DEMAND?

Yes I believe he should have to answer questions about the funds, it allows for there to be transparance with the pastor and the flock.
At my uncle & aunt’s church the pastor and his wife horded the offerings and tithes for years. They were not held accountable to anyone. My aunt told me that the church bills went unpaid as tithes and offerings were given, and the church was eventually foreclosed on. Now the real shocker is this, the pastor and his wife were using the members money to have a new house built in Florida. That is the ultimate in fleecing of the flock. THIS STUFF IS OUT OF HAND AND WE CAN’T FIGURE OUT WHY SOULS ARE NOT GETTING SAVED. THEY CAN SEE THE MESS IN THE CHURCH AND NO LONGER SEES IT AS A PLACE OF REFUGE.
This is why a church needs Deacons and Trustees, read Acts the Apostle refused to touch the money!
I agree with that brother. Unfortunately, some Pastors don't allow their Deacons and Trustees to act in the capacity of their duties. They keep them at arms length when it comes to finances. When my husband and I lived in Michigan, we were approached by a gentleman from Pakistan who was obviously very wealthy. We were going to be leasing a space from him for one of our store locations.

In talking with him, he perceived that we were Children of God. In our meeting, he asked if we were interested in helping him start a large church, where we would be the Pastor and Co-Pastor and he would be the Owner/CEO. We laughed at him and said that you can't just open a church and start Pastoring.

This guy saw the whole church thing as a business opportunity and needed two Christians to enable him. I remember thinking that this guy had lost his mind and we needed to put him in his place. It is sad but many churches are opened by so called Christians under the same pretenses. Pastors that are not called but have their minds on nothing more than money.

If they see it as a business, they will not feel any since of accountability and will use all types of fear tactics to keep the flock in line.
I'm a lil confused Mark where does it say the Apostle's refused to touch the money?
I don't think he should be over the finances period, that takes from his calling to be overseer of his flock, That is the job of the deacon board or trustees.
Where did trustees come from? I must admitt I have not heard too many good stories about Deacon and Trustee run churches
MANY LATTER DAY CHURCHES ARE NOT STRUCTURED THAT WAY ANYMORE, AND SO THERE IS NO REAL CHECK AND BALANCE, AND MANY SHEPHERDS ARE GETTING THEMSELVES AND THEIR CHURCHES INTO FINANCIAL TROUBLE. I HEARD ONE BISHOP THREATEN TO CURSE HIS PEOPLE OUT IF THEY QUESTIONED HIM ABOUT WHAT HE DID WITH THE MONEY..
Then I would have to leave that church, anything that I sow a seed in to, I have a right to know that one is being a good steward over that seed.
I BELIEVE THEY WERE CARVED OUT OF ACTS CHAPTER SIX, BUT THE DISCIPLES WERE CHRIST'S TRUSTEES".(JUDAS)
I know about Deacons and there orgin, but the Trustee's was the one I was questioning. And if Judas was the example I definitly will run from them! LOL
UNFORTUNATELY,A LOT O THEM TURN OUT TO BE "SHEISTY" AS WELL.
