Significance of the number 40, 8, 44, and the rise of Barack Obama

Dear Friends:

Over the last seven months, I have received so many e-mails about politics, smear campaigns, hope, change and the like, that I had to provide a spiritual/prophetic rendering of what has happened with the election of Barack Obama. I have gleamed some of my research from my ever growing library of books, commentaries and websites. Strong's Exhaustive Concordances, Crosswalk.com, Dakes Study Bible, Barackobama.com, and best of all from heavenly inspiration. Special thanks to my Wife Rochelle for allowing me to share at length my rambling as well as my love of politics. Living in Washington D.C., you either follow the Redskins or Hardball, and Since I'm a Steelers' fan, Politics take up alot of my time.

It is of heavenly significance that we all understand the how the events in the natural are shaped by the spiritual. For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 My writing deal with the numbers 4 -8 - 40 and 44.

The numbers 4, 8, 40, and 44 resonates throughout these events.

The number 4 in biblical meaning stands for 4 ~ Earth, World, Creation, Foursquare ~, ~ Place, Space, Reality, Dimension ~, ~ Height Depth, Width, Breath ~, North South East West. Additionally, this number speaks to the 4 types of "Sight" we seek to master and understand as Children of God: Insight, Hindsight, Foresight and Oversight.

For we surely can not attempt to chart a course for our families and ourselves unless we know where we come from, and the challenges which help to make us into the people that we are today. The is called Hindsight. Taking the lessons from the past, gleaning wisdom ,experience and practical application of their usage.

Insight enables us to look inside our selves to seek peace and or direction. The ability to question our paths.

Foresight provides us with the ability to think forward, to plot a path or chart a course with deduction, effort and sound reasoning.

Lastly, Oversight, is the ability to step outside of an issue and spin it on it's axis, to get a 360 degree, or "God View" of an issue.

44 is significant because 4 + 4 = Eight

The number "8" biblically stands for Completion. In Hebrew the number eight is hnm# (Sh'moneh), from the root Nm# (Shah'meyn), "to make fat," "cover with fat," "to super-abound." As a participle it means "one who abounds in strength," etc. As a noun it is "superabundant fertility," "oil," It is 7 plus 1. Hence it is the number specially associated with Resurrection and Regeneration, and the beginning of a new era or order. Eight (8) resurrections are mentioned in scripture, other than that of Jesus and the saints.

The number 40 stands for a generation and or a time of fasting, or testing. Moses and the children of Israel initially were to spend 40 days and nights in preparation to enter into the promise land as ordained by God, but the generation of elders leaving Goshen, because of their un-belief, prohibited the nation from entering in the promise land. It took 40 years for them to die off. Remember, Jesus was tested during his 40 day sojourned into the wilderness by the Devil. 40 days between resurrection and ascension to Heaven. The Book of Judges speaks of the 40 years of Peace and prosperity brought about under Barak, Judges 5:31,

40, an important number, both on account of the frequency of its occurrence, and the uniformity of its association with a period of probation, trial, and chastisement—(not judgment, like the number 9, which stands in connection with the punishment of enemies, but the chastisement of sons, and of a covenant people.

While speaking at the 40th anniversary of the civil rights act, Barack Obama spoke to the Elders, calling them the "Moses Generation", and that he represented the "Joshua" generation. This is significant in that we have been faced with overwhelming odds as a nation, a race and as children of God. Oftentimes we seek a deliverer on our own schedule, Remember the petition to the Supreme Courts in the Brown verses the Board of Education Suit by Justice Marshall " If not now", When? Yet God's timetable is different than ours. We have been caught "looking Up" towards heaven, rather then being coming fully engaged in the work assigned to us. And some of us simply don't know when to pass on the mantle of authority to the next generation.

The Number 4 The Date: 4

In America, specific to this election cycle, it has been forty years since the Signing of the Civil Rights act, banding discrination. This act, signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson on July 2, 1964, prohibited discrimination in public places, provided for the integration of schools and other public facilities, and made employment discrimination illegal. This document was the most sweeping civil rights legislation since Reconstruction. It was Senate Minority Leader Everett Dirksen of Illinois, who convinced Republicans to support the bill. once signed we saw the en masse defection of the "Dixie crats" from the "Blackbelt states" to the republican party.

Here some parting thoughts:

Martin Luther King Jr. was a prominent American Civil-Rights leader who was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee on April 4, 1968, at the age of 39.

Senator Robert F. Kennedy (who was assassinated himself two months later) on June 4, 1968

President-elect Barack Obama , Elected November 4, 2008,

All events occurred on the (4th) forth day of the month, within a forty year span.

About The 44th President of the United States

Barakah (Arabic: بركة : also Baraka) is an Arabic term meaning blessing, particularly, spiritual gifts or protection transmitted from God. It is also described as "the greater good" derived from any act. The parallel Jewish term is the cognate Berachah, in Christianity charisma or divine grace. Barakah also refers to the favorable result of any action due to divine blessing. It is also a Sufi term referring to a sense of "divine presence" or "charisma."

Muslims believe that "sincere invocation of God", good deeds, repentance, and prayer, may dispose God to dispense Barakah into their lives. This is supposed to make things easier, happier, and more blessed in this life, and by God's mercy, in the Hereafter.

Hussein:

an Arabic name which is the diminutive of Hasan, meaning "beautiful" or "handsome".
Obama:

a Luo name (male) from Western Kenya (Nyanza Province) which may derive from "obam," which connotes "bending" or "leaning".
In closing, Barack's parents named him, and helped chart a course for his life that led him to this moment. I believe that we are the sum total of the hopes, dreams, challenges, predictions and efforts, through God, working to help us reach the life God sent us here to experience. I believe that nothing happens by mistake, yet our free will gives us the option to follow the path or divert from it! Barack Obama's life was shaped by so many people, and he in turn is helping to shape our lives as well.

Many of us were named after our ancestors, terms different than the European surnames passed on to us due to slavery. Some of us have names which are hybrids, combining our parents names to show who much they truly loved us. And some of our names were simply plucked from a book, spelled phonetically different, yet regardless of what name you have and how it is pronounced, you matter, and are of great significance to the family your part of, and the community you live in. President Elect Obama could not have won this election without the path that America has had to journey down. Our future path is going to be difficult at times, but remember, God has ordered the steps of our nation, and the year of judgment in coming in 2009!
