Today we the black community lost another icon, Michael Jackson departed this life. Many of us grew up listening to his music. I grew up not only listening to Michael Jackson, but I aslo dressed and danced like him. I had the penny loafers, high water pants with white socks, the glitter glove and leather zip down jacket. His music and legend would be remembered...

As I was writing this post my sister called me from South Carolina to make sure I was alright... I was a true Michael Jackson fan... I pray we remember him for his music not for the allerged wrong that he did. I'm listening to the news and all they're doing is tearing down his life... this is somebody son, somebody father, somebody brother, somebody family relative, somebody friend... I pray that the news media don't use this as a way to demonize him... (we all have sinned and came short of the glory of God...) His sins aren't no different from ours or those who want to throw rocks at him...

I pray that we preachers get together and pray for his family during this their hour of breavement... Today is their time or mourning... tomorrow may be ours... for there is one step between us and death...

Praise the Lord, I grew up listening to him as well, my daughter told me the news, and I have to say "it hurt" yes, let us lift his family in prayer.
Minister Christian, I, too grew up listening to Michael during the Jackson 5 days onward. Never missed a concert. It is a sad day for the world to lose this miraculous talented man. He was indeed an icon and like Evangelist Fugett said, 'it hurts.' It's stunning, devastating and so hurtful. It is a sad day, a very sad day.

May God be with the Jackson family. May God be with we his fans. May we as believers remember to lift up our talented celebrities to the Lord that they may walk in his righteousness. Michael was a blessing, a King, a Magical wonder and now he has returned to his Creator. God rest his soul. It is a sad day.
Now I guess everybody is in love with MJ. One minute the world loves you, the next their saying "crucify him", then after death we're back to loving him...Even black folx turned their proverbial back on MJ when he was being charged with the lie of child abuse. when massa tells the slaves to hate, we do as were told and very few black folx at the time stood up boldly and powerfully when this wicked country went after our black "icon". I guess now there will be many tributes to the "King of Pop" while he was a joke for many years, now the language has changed. Funny what death will do in illuminating and exposing who we really are as a people. I ain't falling for the roller coaster and fickle ride. I'm waiting to see the real sons and daughters of thunder who will stand when these romans are persecuting us while its happening. I guess Monkey see, Monkey do. I ain't falling for it. I stood up for MJ when it was unpopular to do so, while many in the so called "african" american community along with your beloved commediennes crucified his character because massa did.....I ain't fooled. I've been in prison ministry too long to know that those behiind bars are more innocent than those who are profiting off them.
Yeah well Scott, not all the people fell for the lies against Michael. I didn't. I rooted for him throughout that 'lynching' of a trial. I am sure countless millions of us black people did as well. Albeit, you are right so many took up the 'massas' rote against him. The trial had to do with the fact that Michael was a shrewd businessman and owned the right to the Beatles and a host of other artists. Some of us knew that. Plenty of us fans weren't fooled and spoke out in our own way. It was all such a travesty but then again. it always is.

But you are right, here will come the cowardly, two-faced out of the woodworks. What's worse, some will come condemning him even in his death. Hey, but they also did it to Jesus didn't they? God bless, Stay Strong Scott. This 'hurt' shall pass.
I have to agree with my sister, I never believe the accusations, and always placed it at the love of money, Mr. Jackson may have made bad decisions in being so trusting and open, to me he was a man that never had the opportunity to be a child himself.

Again it hurts, I was born in 1958, the Jackson 5 were part of my life. As a christian with love in my heart i have sympathy for his children and his family
Well Elaine, following MJ's life since he was a little black, afro wearing and talented chocolate brown child whom sold out many arena's where you could see a sea of black afro wearing faces when the whites were honorinig the Osmond family even to the point of having a competing cartoon that went up against the Jackson 5 cartoon (remember that). And when it was obvious that the cream always rises to the top. When it became apparent that these Jackson Five with their lead singer being Michael were elevated to stardom as the world was in awe of a dancing and singing black and beautiful boy would reach the opitome of excellence to the point that MJ would just walk by white folx and they would bow and faint just to have his shadow cross their proverbial bodies. I knew after watching how white girls would genuiflect at the notion of just feeling MJ's black sweat fall on their face, that it wouldn't be long (knowing our history) that the Romans would be on there way, to devise a wicked plan to "crucify" him. MJ's transformation from being dark to white, complete with bone straight hair, narrow peeling off nose, pointed chin is nothing more than his attempt to be accepted into the majority main stream media's image to fend off any and all stereotypical issues surrounding all that embodies our African heritage. MJ just has the means and the money to do what most of us wish to do, as evidenced with black women buying off the shelves bleaching creams to lighten their skin and straightening their hair to look more like "marybetsyanne" for acceptance in a country that despises anything African. Unbeweaveable. So when a man,, or a black man does it the whole world laughed. As they continue to laugh at us who hate ourselves, our kinky hair (kinky is sexy to me), our broad and beautiful noses and our high cheek bones, full delectable lips, etc, etc. to be accepted by the Romans who killed our Lord and Savior that we say we love. Now the world is playing and replaying MJ from a black boy to the monster they created. In the movie Frankenstein as I watched and loved the movie when I was a little child. I always thought Frankenstein was the monster. But in all actuality as I got older, I realized the monster wasn't Frankenstein at all, but it was the Doctor that created the monster was Dr. Frankenstein.

So I ask you and others, since MJ was the apparent boogey man and "monster" that everyone laughed at (really laughing at all of us), I ask who has created the monster that MJ wound up being? What's the doctors name? What and who was responsible for MJ being addicted to pain killers? What was the killer pain that MJ was trying to numb? This same world and country that has a history of destroying black boys and men with all their talent and God given purpose continues to seek to kill our best with lies, deception and manipulation. MJ really as I've always stated was the prototype of how most of us in the so called African community feels about how God created us. He was the opitome of the symbol of self-hatred that the world of black folx in the diaspora have been trying to bleach out the African that lies within. After God spoke this wicked world into existence, He said "And it was good". He never said, "ooops I forgot to put and give the black woman and man a permanent perm to make them perfect". I never read that God made any mistakes in creating His creation. As a man/woman thinketh so shall he/she be!"

This wicked world and country even went as so far to go after MJ's father who raised 10 children in the 60's and early 70's on a prayer, while most black woman would never think of having that many children and would even go as far as aborting (murder in the womb) to not be fruitful and to multiply. MJ was the 7th child to be born, while most black women claiming to be Christian have only 1-2 children. God blesses those who demonstrate that much faith to trust in God for their provision of God's children. Anyway, the media made Mr. Joe Jackson to be the worse father the world ever knew, including Orpah, I mean Oprah who made many disparaging remarks concerning a hard working black man who loved all of his children and based on Joe's talent and dilligence along with some much needed discipline in creating decent and law abiding black children in the hood of the most racist state in the land Indiana. It was Mr. Jackson who cultivated his black boys into reaching the world with their God given talent despite the many pressures that a black man had to endure over those enduring years. I met Joe Jackson once in Pennsylvania and couldn't wait to shake his hand and to speak life into a man that this sick society tried to destroy. Mainly they used his own children to go after the one who seeded a star child. Latoya with her white man who concocted a plan to ruin the Jackson family by insinuating that he was a child molester himself. And all this while the negro church said nuffin'. Not surprisingly since we never say anything into microphones when one of our own are being attacked with impunity.

And we wonder why MJ chose Islam as his religion. And we wonder why MJ chose to have the NOI and Min. Farrakhan (whom I respect much) for speaking out boldly and loudly as Min. Farrakhan tried to expose the wickedness and lame attacks of one of our special sons the world has ever known. MJ called the NOI for protection since he trusted the NOI while he was facing his biggest threat against aggregious accusations of child molestation. Where was T.D. (one verse) Jakes at? Where was Creflo (dolla bill) Dollar at? Where were all the superstars of Christ at when one of their sons was being eaten alive by snakes, serpents, lions and wolves? I'll tell you why, cause mammon got their tongue.

Now our beloved brother is dead, and everyone is coming out from under the rock to proclaim "wacko jacko" is and was a great man and the nonsense of saying continuously "RIP" as if we all are going to sleep in some king size bed chilling in 'da clouds eating bon bons foreva. Just like MLK when he was alive at the end of his life, most of the black churches were starting to separate from him due to his involvement or lack thereof in supporting the vietnam war. I was told by many of the elders during that time who told me that when MLK came to Philly they would walk the street with Martin alone cause the negro church said he was too hot to be seen with a man who was making too many waves and going against the grain of Vietnam. These same black leaders who said MLK in the beginning of his journey in civil rights stand, sat in a Birmingham prison writing letters explaining to the many black churches about why he believes the time is now for us all who are black to forge along to get our unalienable rights as full citizens of this country. Since it was the black church first who said that MLK was a trouble maker and an outsider; not the white church. Now since he's dead, we can't go to 'da hood and not see "Martin Luther King" boulevards everywhere as we celebrate him in his death. Again, monkey see, monkey do.

Face it we are still slaves, who only love what massa loves and only hate what they hate. Even our own prized sons who continue to shed their blood for the upliftment of our people. Lets not forget how we treated Malcolm X while were at it. I ask you who's next?

Lets see, I have learned from our own history, is that if this world hates someone, I'm choosing to love it. If this world says to make a left, I'm going to make a right. If this world says its going to be a beautiful day, I'm taking my umbrella!

I'm tired of us being deceived, bamboozled and led astray like were being manipulated by wise Pharoahs of today, to create an antedote and innoculate us with the same pill and person that they helped to assassinate by subtly suggesting to us that our powerful and talented black men are WACKO and many of us repeat it from the mouf of satan himself. Now we will bury another prince as we continue to bury a piece of ourselves all at the same time. I ain't going out like 'dat, trust!
I agree brother... I agree...
We see the news media using this as their stepping stone... we have to get together and call in to these shows and petition that they respect the family and his children enough to let them mourn him in peace without focusing on the drama... As a black man... I'm getting really mad listening to the media tear his life apart... Joe Jackson wasn't no different from any other black father that wanted success for thier children... (Since when it's a crime to beat your children? Oh, I forgot, this is America... the only ones that could discipline our black children is the system... don't beat them... just continue to let them go astray beacuse we have a multi billion dollar system waiting for them...)
Wow, you know what Scott? I logged on earlier this morning but couldn't find the strength to reply to 'this' subject matter, just couldn't. As I lifted this matter up to the Lord, one of the insights that came to me was this, this is what the believers must have felt like right after Christ was crucified. Stunned, what to do, It can't be real, devestated, and hurt. We don't often think on this aspect surrounding the crucifixion but today I did. All things do work together for good, ya know?

The King of Pop is now in the presence of the King of Kings. Or, how did Michael put it, "You and I must make a pact, we must bring salvation back, where there is love, I'll be there." :-) Praise God!

Anyway, yeah, how about that Saturday morning "Jackson 5" cartoon series? Jumped up primed for it as long as it lasted. It was an event. :-)

As for the 'Willie Lynch' brainwashed mentality of Michael and African/Americans, yeah, well some are more screwed up than others. I actually wrote a post advocating that we began to do spiritual warfare against Willie Lynch. I mean afterall, it's the 21st century. Scientists have now verified the 'superiority' of the black skin that so many bleach off. Some are now coming to appreciate the beauty of their black skin, by the way, the same skin color of Adam and Yahshua and the nations of Biblical antiquity as spoken of in the Torah.

This is why it is important to teach the true racial appearance of said nations. Satan used the racist enemy to erase color and demean people of color therefore, we are commanded to use the very same word of God, (weapon of our warfare) to lift up color and all it's beauty in order to set the captive free.

Now, 'hair and women' as I replied to you on another post, that's a different subject. Ya treading on female holy ground on this one and I gotta withstand ya. :-)

Ya see, historical evidence have found that the Khemite/Hamite Egyptians who were 'black and proud' wore 'wigs, weaves' and a straigtening comb was found among the relics of history (Ps. 78:51; 105:22,27; 106:21-22; Gen. 10:6; 50:11; Lev. 24:10). Since europeans were seen as lepers, or barbarians by them we know that those black people weren't straigtening their hair and wearing weaves out of a inferiority complex rather it was a 'beautifciation' custom.

We are females, we love dress up, make-up, from our youth up. We not only dress our dolls up but mothers dress their daughters in barretts and pretty braided hair or pony tails. Again, it's a female good thing. Yeah, our ancestors were taught to see their hair as 'nappy' and 'bad' of which the worse thing about condemning 'wooly' hair is they are condemning the Ancient of Days, Almighty God who is described as having the same 'wooly hair' that black people put down (Dn. 7:9).

Still, we went through our 'Afro' 'black and proud' era and that shows that some of us were being moved to love ourselves. Unfortunately, Michael was messed up in that area big time. Surprisingly so too, seeing that the little chestnut colored beauty was as you alluded fawned over by girls the world over. If anyone should have saw their black beauty it was him.

Nonetheless, we see 'Willie Lynch' is a dangerous, demon that deeply scars. As for Joe Jackson, well, here I have to differ with you as well. The media did not go after Joe Jackson until Latoya told on him. Michael didn't deny that his father was a bit too rough even if he did mean well. He scarred and Latoya told of the scarring. Abuse is abuse no matter who is doing it.

Though Latoya is said to have recanted a lot of her charges the fact is, there was some anguish there that got out and even Michael once said, 'he would want to regurgitate' at times. So you see, I'm not so much down on the media for that as afterall, they went after Bing Crosby who was said to 'abuse' his children and we all know about Mommie dearest, Joan Crawford.

As such, we can't necessarily lay a 'racist' charge because they picked up on what Joe Jackson's own daughter said he did. Nobody that much under the spell of a 'white man' especially Latoya who had wealth unlimited at her hands. Wrong is wrong no matter who is doing it.

But yeah, I think his intent and his goal were good aspirations. He gave us Michael and the Jackson 5 and is to be respected for that.

Bottom line, I truly believe that the Holy Spirit will impact the black community and knock out a lot of this evil. We who are righteous will unite and do the end time exploits that the word of God proclaimed (Dn. 11:32). Hey, just look God gave us a Black President who lifts up the beauty of his Black wife and daughters, as such, is there anything too hard for the Lord? Nah, watch for it, mark my words, it's coming and that quite soon. Praise God!

In the meantime, we grieve, we grieve a great loss!
Thanks for the Music MJ!
:-) Great 'uplifting' testimony Rev. Lucket. Thanks for sharing.
