To The Black Preaching Network (preachers, pastors and reg. members) re: Alois Bell

I just want you to know that I in no way associate anyone belonging to this site, with Alois Bell.  I am part of the hoard that has invaded your site after doing an internet search.  For me...  Well, there just isn't words for the outrage at this lady's (I use the term loosely) actions.  I am old enough that the title, Rev., Pastor and Father, means something.  I was taught that everyone gets a certain amount of respect initially.  But, there were those, who, based on their chosen occupation, got more.  A man or woman of the cloth, was one of those occupations.

I was not raised Christian, and am not Christian.  But, I was raised to be respectful, courteous and polite.  Rude, inconsiderate and bullying were my family's version of sin.  You hear, "Somebody should do something!" or "Something should be done about this!" I was taught that I am "somebody" and I am responsible for "something."  If it is within my power, to make a difference, I was obligated, morally obligated.

You all, as the front line for your various churches, realize the trust that is deferred to you.  Your guidance is sought out, (hopefully) your advice heeded and we trust you with our children.  You all, are the example to the next generation.  The role models.

This situation has struck a cord with the whole world, it's went global.  I know that one bad apple doesn't spoil the whole bunch.  But, if you don't get rid of that one bad apple, over time it can spoil a lot of the apples in that bunch.  And what has happened in this situation is so wrong on so many levels.

You see, I have a child that has sought out religion.  Because my daughter wants it, we go.  Just the thought that there are pastors like Alois Bell, makes me shiver.  You sort of expect it, from part of the flock.  But, I tell my daughter to follow a pastor's example...  :::deep shudder:::  But, natural selection and the internet are taking care this situation.  But, I want you all to know, I know a majority of the leadership of a church are good people.  Leadership of a church knows that there is more to this an just showing up on Sundays.  They know they are to live their beliefs, not just claim the religion.
