Thanks for the comment. You're right, but I'll let you know the complete answer I was looking for after a few people comment. This ought to be good!

Many people have mistaken the word "fornication" to be exclusive to people having sex when they are not married. Fornication is actually a word that covers "all" sexual immorality, as a matter of fact, sexual immorality is it's definition. So having sex when you aren't married falls under fornication/sexual immorality. Sexually immoral acts, as well as thoughts, as Rev Watson has stated, fall under fornication. For people who have mistaken this term to be exclusive to the unmarried having sex can read Matthew 19:9 and find that this isn't true. Jesus says a man cannot divorce his wife except in the case of fornication. Now how can a married woman "fornicate" if fornication is having sex before marriage? lol....... See you all on my next "TQ"!

Fornication Hebraically also refers to incest, marriages that never can legally/Biblically be consumated, i.e., mother to son, step mother to step son, nephew and aunt etc.

This is the problem with the couple in 1 Cor. 5, when a man had his father's wife, and the church did not rebuke them for their sin.  Whether or not the father is dead, or divorced from the woman, it is Biblically forbidden for a step son to ever marry his step mother.

Fornication can also be interpreted "spiritually" as one leaving the Biblical faith.

But do answer this question, at what point is a couple "married"?  Is it only AFTER vows are taken before a "minister"?   Please provide your biblical text with your answer.  :-)

I agree with what you've said here. Leaving biblical faith (Fornication) is symbolism like adultery is symbolic of apostacy. In Hosea, Hosea married a harlot to symbolize this. But the truest definition of fornication is sexual immorality. And according to my studies, which was long ago. I believe a couple consumates their marriage with sexual intercourse. The bible talks about the man taking his wife and going "into" her.

I think Genesis 2:24, becoming one flesh is the first interpretation of coming together sexually and becoming one. (Married)

And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother's wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother. Genesis 38:8

Fornication first starts in our minds.  I believe it can be a man/woman lusting after.

The Word of God say, if a man looks on a woman and lust, he have sinned in his heart.  We have to look deeper into this and not just the letter sake.

It's not just the act, it's the thoughts of doing the act.

Yes, of course it starts in the mind. Our thoughts and deeds can be sexually immoral.

Exactly!

Most carnal people don't understand that everything we do is first formulated from our minds. This is why the devil fights so hard to win it.

Once thoughts enter into our minds and we don't cast down those evil thoughts and bring them into the obedience of Christ, they began to linger.

When we ponder on them for a period of time, they will form into habits, and then we will act on them.

Anyone who commits a sinful act didn't just happen overnight. They are thoughts which linger to the point of action. When we commit the act, it's not that God didn't forewarn us. But we didn't have any strength to resist.

Bro Anthony;

It's an amazing thing to see how God moves in the lives of His people.  We're all connected to the body of Christ and everyone has something to share and we all have to be in a start of continual learning.  From the least to the greatest.

We just need to consider the whole matter and God will reveal what's truth.
