Ok, I do wedding photography, and recently I was at a church wehre the bride and groom wanted to jump the broom, but the pastor told them that they couldn't because it was a form of witchcraft, so I would like to get some feedback on this because I haven't been able to find it anywhere

Yeah I'm not into jumping the broom at a wedding, what's that celebrating? Not sure if its a form of witchcraft, but it does give the impression and perception of something that is symbolic of slavery and superstition masquerading itself as being part of our "culture", whatever that means. I forbade that at our wedding when the subject was broached and I know I rattled some feathers in doing so. I didn't want to set a precedent by what jumping a broom symbolizes.
