"By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
John 13:35

If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love,
I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal………..

Love IS patient
Love IS kind

…..and IS NOT jealous;
love DOES NOT brag
….and IS NOT arrogant,
DOES NOT act unbecomingly;
It DOES NOT seek its own,
IS NOT provoked,
DOES NOT take into account a wrong suffered,
DOES NOT rejoice in unrighteousness,

but rejoices with the truth;
bears ALL things,
believes ALL things,
hopes ALL things,
endures ALL things.
I Corinthians 13:1, 4-8 (emphasis added)

Love???? Starting to almost dislike that word "love". It means different things to different people. Dated a woman many years ago, who told me to my face, "You don't love me!" I said, "why you say that?" She said, "Cause you don't beat me." Wow, guess can't take her to my momma. She was foine too.

The word "love" has been watered down, usurped, weakened, maligned, hijacked, undefined, misused, agendanized, lacking, conditional. Told a lot of women back in the day that I "loved" them, was it just a word used cause I knew that's what she wanted to hear? To say it to make them think there was more to this "relationship" than what it really was? I love you babeeeeeee, is that it, just a word a four letter word that takes away the fears, anxieties, loneliness and emptiness away to go on a journey with this "Loved one" of hers/his. Met a woman years ago who said her sister called out of the blue after years of not speaking one late night. Her sister said, "I'm in LOVE and I'm soooooo happy, never been this happy before in my life", "please be happy for me, this is the best love I've ever experienced and will never again be without this love" her sister was shocked and moved greatly and wanted to know who this new "love" was in her sisters life. She asked, "Well whats his name? Tell me baby sister, tell me all about your new love and tell me his name, I want to meet him", her sister replied, "His name is CRACK" and hung up the phone. Love.....Oh, love how art thou, let me count thy ways.... Do we love for the mere fact of being in love, an emotion a feeling? I've "loved" many women and had many "relationships" whatever that means too. I've been counseling more marriages lately over their marriage. Devastating things that have attacked the marriage covenant. I'm getting calls daily from friends, wonderful Christian and sold out friends who are ready to leave their wonderful and loving wives, my brother included. Because as they say, "the love is just not there any more", I've found a new "love", to some its pornography, others its another woman/man, others its drugs or alcohol, others its loving their kid, but not her kid, mainly really it all boils down to being "lovers of self" selfish love. As my brother called me up happy and glee that he found his first love, the love of his life, the one who he lost his virginity too back in high school, his first love and they have reconnected and won't stop loving each other and will live in love. I asked my brother, "But what about your wife of 17yrs and your son who LOVES you dearly?" He said, " I have to do this for ME, I had to access my OWN happiness, so I can be HAPPY" I replied, "Happiness???, what about your wife's happiness, your 13yr old sons happiness? In order for you to be "happy", means others will be sad and hurting" He said, "he'll be ok, we've talked and he's cool, he knows what I'M going through in this stale and "unloving" marriage." Yes, he has hooked up with his old "love" of high school dayz from 30yrs ago at the very same time his wife's mother just died..... What's love got to do with it? I'm asked all the time about my marriage, "Hey Scott you still love your wife?" My reply is always this, "sometimes I love her, sometimes I don't. And I'm sure she feels the same about me at times. She's even said at times when the stresses of this world blows in our house, "I just don't love you no more", "not feeling you like I used too"..."just not happy". Like a broken record. My response to whether I love my wife, "Jesus wasn't happy or in a love feeling or emotion about leaving heaven, to come to this cold and unloving earth, to be mocked, abused, whipped, beaten and bruised, to carry a 120 lb cross on His already bruised and weakened back to walk over 3 miles to His ultimate death, to have his hands nailed and feet nailed to a rugged cross while He was naked because of an emotion and feeling of what we believe "love" is or that He was "happy", He did it because He was COMMITTED! Love is not a DECLARATION, its an ACTION, which is the foundation of what true love represents.

Joh 15:13 "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

Peace and LOVE...

In His Grip

Scott
Amen Bruh Scott.....
Keep rejoicing, bearing, believing, hoping and enduring ALL things
