(1Sam. 1:1-7)

Does this remind you of the Women of Zion competing or what!

Peninnah could not bear the blessing of fruitfulness, but she grew haughty and insolent; yet Hannah could not bear the affliction of barrenness, but she grew melancholy and discontent.

Elkanah gave to Hannah a worthy portion, the choicest piece that came to the table, the piece (whatever it ws) that used to be given on such occasions to those that were most valued; this he did in token of his love to her, and to give all possile assurance of it.

NOW the Scriptures never said PENINNAH provoked her,,,, but it said "HER ADVERSARY ALSO provoked her sore, for to make her fret because the LORD had shut up her womb." (1Sam 1:6)

SOMETHING WAS GOING ON WITH HANNAH APART FROM PENINNAH! SHE HAD SOME ISSUES WITH THE INCONVENIENT SITUATION THE LORD HAD PLACE HER IN; THUS SHE DEVELOPED SOME EMOTIONALS SECRETS ~ AND HER ADVERSARY KNEW IT!
