Well I guess I should first define colloquialism:

A colloquialism is a familiar or informal conversation rather than formal speech or writing.

Oh that didnt't help huh? Well how about this, let me give you an example of some Christian Colloquialisms?

"Trials come that they might make you strong"

"I'm taking back what the devil stole from me"

"I'm coming up the rough side of the mountain"

"God will make a way out of no way"

They are often found in the lyrics of Christian songs. Others may call it "Christian-ese"... phrases that are commonly used in da church.

I know, I know, some aren't biblically based at all. As a matter of fact, some may be just down right doctrinally and erroneous in principle AND application... but I digress.

So tell me, what is your favorite Christian Colloquialism?

If you have a scripture to support it, please share it. If not, no problem. This is just for fun anyway.

My favorite is "THE GOD OF PEACE WILL GIVE YOU THE PEACE OF GOD"

Philippians 4:7-9

7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Blessed, highly favored, and increased suddenly (no, take that back, I don't like that one!)
Let go and let God
