You have a valid point Chaplain, marriage is not for everyone, but these women desire to be married, the scriptures state it is better to not marry and be totally committed to God, and of course HE will supply a fulfilling and fruitful life for those who choose this way.

However for those who desire to be married, God knows that too, and the right priorities have to be taught to our young women so that their marriages can be pleasing in the eyes of the Lord.
Oddly enough, some people don't realize that marriag is not for them until AFTER they are married. (now that's a kick in the pants LOL)

While others have seen so many failed marriages in the family and friends around them that they would prefer to just "shack up". I know several people (Believers) who are like that who truly believe that once you say, "I do" all hell breaks loose in the relationship. I know people who have been living together for years as commonlaw husband and wife. And since they are legally commonlaw, then they fulfill the scritpure of obeying the laws of theland. (We always try to find a loophole in everything don't we?) They defend this by saying that unlike folks who get married the regular way, their relationships have lasted years while other's marriages have fallen by the wayside. And besides, "we ain't hurtin' nobody".

But here is advice I have for those people who fear marriage because all hell might break loose:

Marriage is the earthly picture of Christ's relationship with the church ( a Groom and his bride). So why wouldn't the devil HATE marriage? You probably won't have nearly as many issues in your relationship while you are shacking up... but the moment you say I do.. well yes, of course, all hell WILL break loose to keep that union unhappy. So don't be surprised when hell breaks loose on your relationship. The same is true for a person who is living a life of sin and decides to follow Christ... all hell just may break loose on them too!

My supporting scripture is this....

I Peter 4:12-17 (suffering for Christ)

12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.

16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
AMEN HOPE & EVANG FUGETT

That is true, why are there so many black woman unmarried? I feel that jealousy ( which is evil) is within our own race of black people black women. Instead of being happy for you, they want to curse you a wnat the man that you have. My question is : How can you want something or someone that the Lord himself does not intend for you to have? There's someone for everyone I think if everyone just trust in the Lord and have faith, they'll get all that they desire.
