WOMEN WEARING PANTS IN CHURCH....

[HOPE - Psalm 43:5]

Over the years, I have heard many men and women in the holiness denominations say that women shouldn't wear pants in the church.

Were is the scripture to support the ideology that women shouldn't wear pants? If it is in scripture then I would have to ask why are men wearing pants? Did men wear pants in biblical times or did their wear something that covered their loins and then long robe like attire? I mean isn't that what you depict in your biblical plays? So why aren't the men being asked to wear similar apparel in the church to maintain a outward appearance of holiness? Why aren't they asked to not cut their hair (both facial and head)

What are the clothing designations for men in the holiness denominations.

After all, without holiness NO man/woman shall see God.....

Let Me Say This, Some of you guys; Simply don't get it! If you prefer to wear dresses, then more power to you, you have that right to choices of what clothing you wear to church or anywhere else for that matter, best or not, as long as you're covered, and the pants are not hanging off your back side, or, so tight you don't need an imagination, you're showing me. Why is it some black people in the church need someone else to think and make choices for them? All this qouting scripture in an attempt to justify why women should not wear pants to church is ridicuious. How can that scripture (Deturonomy 22:5) possiblely be speaking of pants, when they simply did not exist until well after it was wrote? Many of you are really not "Studing" the word, if you were, you'd realize it's referring to men and women pretending to be one and the others gender, and God warning the isrealites to not be surprised by this, nor partake in such behavior as Homosexuality, because God made the Isrealite his people, that who the laws were referring to. Com On! Bible scholars, What's that about?

I lived with and under the 'Mothers' of the church who were the ones who stepped out on these scriptures while teaching us how to be women and ladies.  Yes, the scripture does not mention the actual word "pants" or make mention of "pants" in the physical natural sense.  Yet, it does say "pertaining unto a man".  God did not send His word for us to just understand the times and the culture they were written in.  We are to make sense of the principles.  The good sense of it all.  The Kingdom of God thinking.  I personally don't like the way pants look on me so I dont' wear them.  Pants shows too much and gives men the temptation to move their minds from 'being in the image and likeness of God"...   Men, even men of the Church, "galk".  However, that's my "good sense". 

Since you mention the 'homosexuality' that God warned the Israelites about, will you also chronologically put it in it's proper order?  I am not familiar with the homosexuality piece being a part of Deuteronomy 22.  How was that lone scripture connected with homosexuality as a warning to the Israelites? Thanks in advance for your teaching...

As to the statement that pants are to revealing.  Most dresses and skirts reveal just as much as pants. as to the statement about men galking some men will stare or galk  at a woman regardless of what she is wearing. If a very attractive woman passes by a group of men every last one of them will stop and look it doesn't matter if she is in church or walking down the street. I would rather see a woman wear a pair of pants in church than a skirt or a dress that's two sizes to small or to short.

As far as I know, scripture just says that women should be women.  If you're wearing woman's pants, I see no problem.  As far as men, it's not biblical that all men should not cut their hair.  That's only for men from certain cities, or tribes.  The non-cutting of the hair symbolized a specific covenant that God had with that child, and usually, God would make that commandment before the child was even born.

My dear Prophetess, I really don't think you want to wear or are already wearing pants. I also don't think think that you have carefully search all through the scriptures to profess boldly in the sense of a challenge.

What I do believe is that God made made man separate and distinct and made women separate and distinct. How do we in these days even identify women from men? Are you speaking from the perspective of your cultural background or the European background?

It is clearly stated in Deuteronomy 22:5 that a man must not put on the wearing of men, and that women must not put on the wearing of men. Does this mean nothing to you? Were you in the mind of God when he wrote these words?

Let me come to your church and put on skirt and you put on pant and let the whole church look like that. What do you see? According to the word of God, it is an abomination for any one who wears the cloths of the opposite sex.

Indeed we see and we know that the word is rapidly changing and one would be tempted to go along side with the changes. May I say, everything may change but the word of God does not change. When God was writing the bible through inspire men of God, he did not consider your personal view. It is not about how America feels about it neither is it an American culture etc.

Go ahead, believe what you believe, practice it for at the end of time, each one will give an account of his or her deeds. My own advise, the word of God is complete and there is no room to add nor subtract any single line. Read Revelation 22: 18-19. Gods word is written and settled. There is no room to teach something else to appeal to the generation or to empress on the minds of people. Do not add. Do not subtract. Be warn!! It's not your choice. God wrote it.

      1 Corinthians 2:14-16 "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned."  "But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man."  "For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ."

     Anyone who thinks that God is literally talking about a pair of pants simply has no spiritual discernment, does not have the mind of Christ and should not be giving instruction or operating in any kind of leadership capacity within the church.

     The bible was not written for natural man to look at and give his opinion, interpretation or analysis.  When this happens you have alot of misinformed individuals operating out of their limited (finite) understanding trying to explain the nature of God in his totality.  Man's intellect always falls short of the infinite nature and wisdom of God.  This subject matter is to be spiritually discerned.

    1 Corinthians 2:11, "For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God."  Wearing clothes is a man's/woman's issue.  Recently the world reprimanded mother's of minor children who were dressing provocatively and risque during a recent pagaent.  Even the world can discern when dress is inappropriate.  This is hardly a spiritual matter.  Usually people who have no spiritual discernment are the one's who harp on non-spiritual matters because they have nothing else.
