YOU NEED TO FAST

Fasting is the most powerful spiritual discipline of all the Christian disciplines. Through fasting and prayer, the Holy Spirit can transform your life.

Fasting and prayer can also work on a much grander scale. According to Scripture, personal experience and observation, I am convinced that when God's people fast with a proper Biblical motive-seeking God's face not His hand-with a broken, repentant, and contrite spirit, God will hear from heaven and heal our lives, our churches, our communities, our nation and world. Fasting and prayer can bring about revival - a change in the direction of our nation.

This is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?” (John 1:19)

Everyone God has created has an identity. Before you can discover your purpose on earth, it is necessary to first make a self discovery. You ought to know your identity. To arrive at this, there is need for self-probing questions that are coined in humility and sincerity. Some people are too superficial. They find it difficult to tell themselves the truth. ‘Who am I?’ is one question you need to answer.

Ordinarily, you are addressed by various titles and appellations. But that is not who you really are. Providing an answer to that question transcends your position, title, wealth or any human accolade or recognition. It transcends the physical to something more spiritual.

If you attempt to answer ‘Who am I?’ from the physical plane, you will get it wrong. Those who fulfilled their ultimate divine destiny are those who have satisfactorily answered this question. Our Lord Jesus Christ sought to discover who He was. When He found it, it was easy to discover His purpose as well. Such knowledge helped Him to stay focused and accomplish His heaven-given mission on planet earth.

A knowledge of who you are helps you to appreciate the brevity of life. In John 9:5, Jesus confidently declared, “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world”. Who are you? An understanding of who you are patterns your life-style. The Bible calls fornicators dogs. If you know who you are, you will not live like a dog. If you realize you are a prince, you will not live like a beggar.

In defining who you are, you need to be sure who you are not. Millions of people have sought to answer this question, but looked all the wrong places. John the Baptist, like Jesus, sought to discover himself and he got the right answer. One thing common to everyone who got the answer is that they looked at the only true source - the Bible.

It is God who created you that can tell you who you are. Those who study God’s Word are wise because they will not only discover themselves, but also God’s divine blueprint for their lives. If you keep a distance from God, you may never find out who you are. Who you are is interwoven with your divine purpose.

Who are you any way? You are a heavenly product created in God’s image and likeness, empowered by God, but visiting the earth for a short while, after which you will return to account to your Creator. Hope you are not turning the earth into your permanent abode.

Living Faith is Obedience
James 2: 20: But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Heb.11: 8: By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

Living Faith is Honesty
Prov:14: 5: A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.

Living Faith is Reliability
Prov:25: 13: As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters.

Living Faith is Humility
Prov:20: 6: Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness:
but a faithful man who can find?

Living Faith is Fearlessness
Matt.8: 26: And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

Living Faith is Power
Mark 11: 21: And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.
22: And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23: For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

THE LORD SAID TO MOSES, HAS THE LORD'S HAND HIS ABILITY AND POWER BECOME SHORT THWARTED AND INADEQUATE, YOU SHELL SEE NOW WHETHER MY WORD SHALL COME TO PASS FOR YOU OR NOT.

DECLARE THIS BY YOUR SELF

THE LORD HAND'S IS NOT SHORTENED AND HIS ABILITY EVER REMAINS THE SAME.
HIS WORD TO ME IS ACCOMPLISHED AND I WILL SEE THE RESULTS WITH MY OWN EYES. HEBREWS- 13, 8

Greetings Prophet David,
I give God the Glory for this teaching on fasting the correct way because there's a lot of people that don't know how to fast the right way, nor do they understand the benefits of fastings. God bless you, your family and the ministry too. Thanks for you prayers as well.

Jesus Knows You!
"I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me."
John 10:14

Devotional Thought For The Day

How many years did you go to school? How much importance do we place on "knowing?" So we believe that when it comes to God, it's most important that we know Him!
First of all, Jesus says "I know my sheep." Jesus knows you! You are important enough to Him, He loves you enough, to take the time and make the effort to know you! He will continue to know you even if senility or some other disease makes it impossible for you to demonstrate to others that you "know" Him.
However, it is also important that we "know" Him. As we learn of His love, surely we also want to know Him better. He reveals Himself to us in His Word and Sacrament! It is certainly a great blessing to know Him, and to be growing in our knowledge of Him! How much time to you take, and how much effort do you make to "know Him?"

Prayer For The Day

O Lord Jesus, how greatly You love me, that you should know me right down to the point of knowing the number of hairs on my head. Forgive my callousness and indifference to knowing You better. Help me devote myself to Your Word and Sacraments that I may be blessed to know You better and better, Amen.
