THE PURPOSE OF PRAYER

We as Christians ae called to a lifestyle of prayer, even so, many believers come to see prayer as nothing more than calling upon their heavenly butler for everyday service. It is usually when I problem arises that we attempt to cry out to God to help us Most assuredly our Commander and General, who also happens to be our Heavenly Father has so much more in store for us. Jesus told His disciples that Because He was going to the Father, we would do even greater works than he did Jn.14:12. When Jesus spoke these words, he was not referring to great or popular evangelist and pastors etc. He was talking about everyone of us. Prayer is the responsibility of every one who is a believer.  The Word of God tells us to pray. But not because we have to; our praying should be due to the fact that we are in relationship with the Father and talking to God is also a privilege. Prayer is entering into a relationship with our Heavenly Father so we can determine His will in matters and call His will into existence within the earth realm. Scripture references: 1Tim.2:1, 2: Eph.6:18; Matt. 26:41; 1Thess. 5:17.
