Grants are not just free money, but require an investment in planning, resources, commitment, and sustainability.
Applying for a grant can seem like a daunting task. Certainly, there is work involved, but with the help of this tutorial, you will know the steps that are necessary and find that success is not as hard to attain as you might think. Grants also have added benefits for the library in addition to funding, such as valuable partnerships, resolved community needs, and increased community support.
This class will cover each phase in the grant writing and submission process:
* Prepare - This lesson covers the process of preparing to write the grant. Topics discussed include building a team, finding partners, and designing sustainability. Includes a checklist and the six phases of grant writing.
* Focus on Library Priorities - This lesson discusses how to focus on the priorities of your library, including identifying the needs and determining how your grant will make a difference.
* Develop the Grant Project - This section covers the development of your grant. Includes elements of the project plan, evaluating the plan, and tools for evaluating the project.
* Research Funders and Find Appropriate Grants - This section covers how to find funds. Includes grant resources, tips for finding funds, and how to interview with a funder.
* Write the Grant Proposal - This section covers the process of actually writing the grant. Includes common components to be included in the grant and how to tell your story in the grant.
* Implement, Evaluate and Continue the Process - This section covers the implementation of the funded project. Also included is how to evaluate the process and keeping up to date.
This class addresses these issues and more in a web-class designed to take about 2.0 hours to complete.

We have lots of people that call our radio broadcast on wyca 102.3 fm in Chicago on Thursdays @ 12:30pm or http://www.wyca1023.com they call for prayer for jobs, well we pray for them but we also help them find their own business so that they don’t have to lose another job. If your church has a mortgage the interest rate is 8% or higher you are paying too much. If you think that a rate reduction of 1 or 2 points is not worth it, consider your mortgage payment going down $500 a month or more depending on the amount you owe. Let me help you reduce your rates by refinancing your church loan without personal guarantees.
Also you may be having trouble making your mortgage payment on time. You may qualify for a Commercial Loan Modification where we can work with your bank and restructure your loan to an amount that is manageable for your congregation during these tough economic times.

21st Century Reformation - CANCELLED FOR THIS WEEKEND!
Greetings men and women of God,
God's continued blessings be upon each of you!
It is with our sincerest regrets that we announce the cancellation of the 21st Century Reformation event to take place in Charlotte, North Carolina this weekend (Jan. 29-30, 2010).
We have received several reports out of the Charlotte area of expected hazardous weather conditions beginning this afternoon and tonight and carrying over throughout the the weekend. Right now they are calling for Snow coming from the north east, freezing rain and sleet from the south. If predicted right, the outcome could keep people isolated, not able to come to the event, and those at the event may not be able to leave. They are even expecting 8 to 10 inches of snow, and/or freezing weather conditions that would keep everyone from traveling via highway.
It is for the above given reasons and the safety and concern of the people that this event is being postponed and will be rescheduled shortly.
We do sincerely apologize for any inconvenience as this was not done intentionally and is completely out of our control. We do pray that each of you would understand our concern for the safety of those who may have had to travel longer distances to get to the meeting. As a reminder, please do contact the hotel directly to cancel your hotel room accommodations and be sure to mention that your cancellation is due to the event cancellation because of hazardous weather conditions.
Please remain encouraged as we WILL be returning to Charlotte shortly! Please look out for the rescheduled date soon in your e-mail.
