I often think about my faith. Why do I have such a burning love for God, when i don't know much about Him. I can't "quote" scripture all day long, there is so much I have yet to learn, yet I love Him. I often pray for God to reveal things to me in His Word, I ask for the Spirit to help me understand. And that is exactly what happens. I have mentioned how I can read a scripture 150 times, but on that 151 times I get a revelation and understand that I can't explain.

Now, I have always known that satan was kicked out of heaven and he rules the earth. I have come to understand that God knew who we were and how He was going to use us before we was born. But things never really "clicked"...until this morning. I love the book of Genesis. And as I often will do, I started at Genesis 1:1. But what I did differently this morning, I pulled out the concordance and started to look up the different words in the scripture. Yes, I know that "In the begining God created the Heaven and the Earth." But the revelation I had came in Genesis 1:2, "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep..." I had always read this scripture to mean the earth was blank, like a blank canvas...but when I looked up the words "void" and "darkness", it revealed that the earth was filled with wickedness and evil, which led me to understand that between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2, that was where satan was kicked out of heaven and ruled the earth. When God created Adam, He actually put Adam on the same earth that satan was ruling (wow). That is why there is such a big Spiritual battle going on because satan does not want God to take back his territory. That is why God knew who He would call to work before we were born, because He knows what work we have to do. Now I understand WHY I am on the battlefield for the Lord.

I know this may seem a bit odd, but for my Pastor's and Minister's, as I made the request known to my Minister Husband (who, by the way, his first response to this was "Baby, you do know that..."), as you preach the Word of God, every now and then it may be good to go back to the basics. Because you may catch a few true believers that are still unclear on the basics.

For those of you that have read my blogs, you know I am not a scholar. I just try to live according to the Word of God. And I still get excited over my "revelations". Sometimes it's truly the little things : )

Stay Encouraged.
