Grace and Peace Bishop,

Yes, it is your Hebrew Bishop. Always a pleasure Your Grace. Let us define "The Kingdom" as well as THE KING. Always remembering that, The WORD became flesh and the purpose of The WORD is, to put us in the Right relation with The King and His Kingdom.

Grace and Peace,

I want to thank all of you for joining this group. I am very anxious to really get into some conversations regarding Kingdom matters. In the first three centuries the church took a position of the instant return of Jesus Christ, so the kingdom was birthed in the hope that Christ would return and set up His earthly kingdom and overthrow Roman rule. By 432 AD, with the callapse of the Roman Empire and a need to institutionize the church, the kingdom became the new revived Roman Empire under Papal rule. By the 10th Century, the desire to reclaim Jerusalem from the Muslins and the desire of wealth, led the church to reclaim the kingdom by recaliming Jerusalem. Today the concept of the kingdom is ever evolving. It is being displayed as mega ministries, false doctrine, and poor exegesis of scripture. What is your understanding of where the kingdom of God is today? and if the church today is respresenting the kingdom, is this the concept that Jesus desired for us? I would love to hear your thoughts.

I believe one of the most important aspects of understanding kingdom is to follow the teachings of Jesus. Our church and especially in my era of preachers, they feel that emotions are the stake to the kingdom. Relationship is key and very important as it relates to the structure of the church. Jesus always had us to understand kingdom and relationship is more important than just mere emotions. However, the govermental body of the former church did not grasp the very concept of salvation unless there was a shout coming forth. In conclusion the NOW generation is looking for more than emotions, it's about relationship with Him. Having these types of avenues to discuss these issues, helps us to appreciate the kingdom of God and the manifested wonders of His glory to come through Christ our Lord.

I think that atitude and perception of "kingdom" by the church has changed drastically over the last 2 thousand years. Initially, I believe that the early Christians thought the kingdom was an event that would take place in their lifetime.

With the arrival and adoption of Christianity by Constantine, I believe that the church took the attitude that the kingdom was earthly and to be controlled by the church. Today I think that there is great variety of thought on the topic.

I am anxious to hear what others have to say

I Started this group to have a dialogue about the NT Church and the kingdm of God. Since there is a lot of talk about kingdom today, just what do you think the Kingdom of God is?
