My Vision

I am Pastor Jeremiah Phifer, born January 2, 1991 in Huntsville, Al. to the late Kimberly Phifer and Bernard Gosa. I was raised in York, Al with two sisters (Latasha Phifer and Shalexus Phifer) by my mother’s adopted mother (Shirley Phifer). My mother (Kimberly Phifer) died at the age of 26 of a Heart Attack. After many years of being an angry child, growing into a confused teenager, I found God at age 12. I heard the Lords calling in my life and got baptized. God chose me to work in his ministry at age 15. After serving as Jr. Deacon and Youth Minister at Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church in Meridian, Mississippi, I became a member of Memorial Temple Seventh-day Adventist Church in Demopolis, Al, where I served as Choir President, Head Deacon, 2nd Elder (then Head Elder) and Youth Minister.

I have received my Ministerial Guidance Training Certificate from the Church of Human Spiritualism in 2005, Pastoral Leadership Training Certificate from the Church of God in 2006, and I received my Pastoral Ordinance for the Universal Church Ministry in 2008. I have been involved in the church for many years. Majority of my Christian life has been spent in the Seventh-day Adventist Church and was recently under the Leadership of Pastor Jenkins of Demopolis, Al, but now I’m under the leadership of God who has given me a vision to start a nondenominational church in Sumter County. The Building that was shown in the vision was the Old Interstate Ford Building. The plan is to convert the building from a car showroom and garage in to a Praise and Worship Center; along with building new facilities for a New Vision’s Soup Kitchen, Recreation & Teen Center, and a Homeless Clothing & Entertainment Center.

"Without a Vision, the people perish. It was with a Vision from God that this church has come to rise in York, Al. With the lack of vision Churches were built on hallow foundation and have since fallen. It is my belief that God is raising up a new generation and a new church, of people that love him. Under God Guidance and leadership, I will build up the kingdom of God right here in York, Al. The vision has come to me, a young man and for those unsure or uncertain the bible reminds us in Psalms 89:19 that, “He spoke in a vision to the faithful people saying: "I have bestowed strength on a warrior; I have exalted a young man from among the people (NIV)."

For too long have the church been passive in ministry and aggressive in teachings. Their aim is politically right, but non effective. They have the right intents, but their methods are off. The bible reminds us that the sick need not a physician, bringing in to fact that the church is a hospital for those seeking help and hope. The teachings of man are no longer effective or efficient, but the people need to hear the words of God. For to have the called people of God sat back a watched as the church teached out the member with doctrine, books and rules with what they can do and ought not to eat, and little do they know they are presenting salvation as a almost impossible achievement, and it is time for a change.

“As we head into a new age, we are bringing in a new ministry, catering to the needs of the community. It is no longer enough to just go to church and be called church people or church staff, but for the world we are a part of, we church people have to step up and be ‘People of God’. Bringing before youth, young adult, single parents, troubled adults and the elderly a safe haven and accepting place, New Vision Community Church will be the light for this community and will be the new standard to which every other church after will base with bar on. With our community based programs and new world based ministry, many will be touched and thousands lives will be changed. This church will be based fully on the word of God, and the ministry of helping people, by providing an atmosphere of Praise and Worship and through that can we receive the Hold Spirit, so that Act. 1:8 can be fulfilled. (And ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you…)”

In the Guidance of God, Lead by a Young Man

Be Blessed
Pastor Jeremiah Phifer
