Moses Refusing Egypt and Choosing God's People, by Faith
By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin. (Hebrews 11:24-25)

The natural tendency of humanity is to desire privilege and pleasure. These two were certainly available to Moses in Egypt. Yet, he refused Egypt and chose God's people, demonstrating the far reaching impact of trusting in the Lord.
When the daughter of Pharaoh discovered baby Moses, she decided to raise him as her child. "Moses was born…and he was brought up in his father's house for three months. But when he was set out, Pharaoh's daughter took him away and brought him up as her own son" (Acts 7:20-21). As an offspring of the palace, Moses had access to the very best of human education, and he became proficient in all that was provided for him. "And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and deeds" (Acts 7:22). In terms of conventional earthly perspectives, Moses was guaranteed a life of privilege and pleasure.
However, when he reached the age of relative maturity, his heart was drawn in a distinctively different direction. "But when he was forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren, the children of Israel" (Acts 7:23). The wording implies that he had been taught of his link with the Israelites as he was growing up in Pharoah's household. Eventually, his heart was stirred by this connection, and he made a life-shaping decision, by faith. "By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter." He decided to renounce his place of privilege in Pharoah's family and to identify himself with God's people. He was aware that this choice was a renunciation of a pleasure-filled life and would inevitably lead to suffering: "choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin."
To commit to the palace would have been pleasurable, but sinful. Furthermore, those sinful pleasures would have been temporary. On the other hand, the blessings of following the leading of the Lord would last forever. Moses' heavenly perspective was much like the Psalmist. "For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand [that is, in anyplace else]. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness" (Psalm 84:10).
Heavenly Father, help me to discern whenever the offer of human privilege is competing with Your will for my life. Please give me a heart to identify with Your people, even though inconvenience or suffering might result. Strengthen my faith to choose eternal blessings over the passing pleasures of sin, Amen.

(Moses unlike some of us end even the saints of that time was spiritually mature, in touch with his purpose (even though he did not have complete clarity) and he was convicted. When I read this I think of one thing and that is the carnal and the spiritutal man. The carnal man is a natural person with natural desires and those desire are unto ourselves, what we feel what we want and what we think. We do not want to deny our flesh anything because it feels good; but the end thereof is death. Our natural desires are unto ourselves, but the spiritual man's desires are unto God. Moses was called and chosen to be the deliverer of God's people. There were transitional changes going on in Moses during those times he interact with God on his way out of Egypt during his time in the desert and defintely in the place that he found shelter in when he came out of the desert. Even in Egypt Moses knew who he was. He was connected with his people; they were a natural part of who he was and that's why he killed the overseer that killed one of the Hewbrew slave. It was in him to protect his people; he was convictied by that connection. Even his running away form Egypt was not an act of cowardship; it was ordained becaust it was time for the next phase of his destiny. There is a word that God gives us that will keep our hearts and minds before we go into the place of transition, but we have to hear it, embrace and let it keep us.
I tend to think that wehn we have our minds renewed in the things of God thath when temptations come we will think like a spiritual man and not we won't have to make a choice between our fleshly desires and the call of God.If we put o the whole armour of God we will be able t stand against the wilds of the world. we know that we are ia war and we know tht the weapoons of this warfare are spiritual and without the Holy Ghost we are already defeated. I think when we read and satudy the rthings of the Bilble we focus on the struggle and not the victory and we think on the our weakness and not the strength of God. Yes, in my flesh dwells no good thing and my heart is deceitfully wicked beyond what I can imagine. But I also know that my yes to God placed me in a battle that I cannot win without Him and won't lose with Him. Thinik it not starage Timothy said when we fall into divers temptations. Know ye this that there is not trial that we go through that God is not fully aware of and cannot brign us through, but we have to keep our minds on Him. The way of Christianiyt is a way of life, the gifts are freely given and they are ours for life, but the annointing is costly and we have been anointed to do a work for God. This is what Moses was called to do and even though we don't see it in the natural there are no happen-stances on anything that goes on wiht the children of God, He has already ordained the time the place the weapons the instruments and the man or woman that will be used in the battle. When we look at the lives of our forefathers in this wise there is a revelational truth that will encoutrage our hearts to stay in the battle and fight the good fight of faith.God can do it without us,but He calls us out to bring others in. Moses was a type of deliverer; so are we today.God's depending on our yes to help brign someone we work with pass ont he street even live with out of sin into salvation. Think it not strange the type of trial we face, but think in the desire of God that every man be saved, healed, set free and be delivered.
