Understanding the Prophetic

Prophecy is one of the most misunderstood and misused teachings in Christian chuches today. People have been hurt by the false visions and supposed revelations uttered through men and women claiming to speak for God. This is particularly prevalent in the charismatic churches,where the prophetic jargon is animated and expressed in an,"anything goes" theatre of life.

2 Peter 1:19-2:1 And so we have the prophetic word made more sure,to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place,until the day of dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts. 20 But know this first of all,that no prophecy of scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, 21 For no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Ghost. 2:1 But false prophets also arose among the people,just as there will also be false teachers among you,who will secretly introduce destructive heresies,even denying the Master who bought them,bringing a swift destruction upon themselves. How critical it is that we develop our teachings from what God says about prophecy,emphasizing simplicity,clarity,and honesty on the subject,without embellishing the text with unnecessary bias,opinion or rhetoric. The prophetic is a very strong gift that the church need in this hour and season,many churches have cut prophecy off in the house of God due to many beliefs and interpretations of scriptures. Many Christian churches still belief in prophesy but don't understand the flow of the prophetic,prophecy isn't used for our own vained glory,but its used to bring edification to a person or to the church at large.

The goal of this study is to define the meaning of prophecy,to prophesy and prophets;to understand the nature of prophecy;to understand the function of a prophet,prophetess and seer;and to determine the correct applications in and to the Christian church today. The bottom line is simple;if it cannot be validated in the scripture,then it should be discarded,modified to conform to what God's word says,or if prayerful study doesn't yield immediate answers,to then set the "unknown" on a proverbial shelf until further insight from scriptures is available. In order to understand the prophetic you must have the spirit of God in you in order to discern what is classified as correct teachings and doctrines is the truth or not. Prophecy is God's revelation of the future to a person;the he or she shares the revelation with others.Prophecy is when Gid shows us the future so we will know how to repsond and pray. This teaching of understanding the prophetic will expose the secrets of satan, let us be watchful of the people who prophesy saying is a word from the lord but it's not lead by scriptures they are considered as FALSE PROPHETS, those that says I have a word and the lord never spoke. Jeremiah 23:25 I have heard what the prophets have said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed. In order to have prophecy effected in the church,we must set order in the house of God the correct way. Some christian based churches have void the Apostolic teachings of God.
