Many times we face situations where some of the seasoned and elderly, traditional saints do not believe that gospel rap is of God. This is my view: Presidng Bishop Charles E. Blake used the theme for the COGIC last year "All Things, All People, All Godly Strategies" and what I get from this is gospel rap is a godly startegy tht reaches the 3rd Millenium Generation. Although it is the word of God that will cleanse them, we have to reach them first. I have heard saints say that praise dancing is not of God because the young people are in the flesh. How can we truly say what is in the heart of anyone? Should not this be left up to God who judges the heart? I personally do not have a problem with gospel rap or praise dancing if it is inspiring the younger generation to praise God and not the devil. Believe me, rapping is a gift that God has given to individuals, because not just anyone can do it, so how can it be wrong it the unsaved rapper is now saved and delivered and uses the same gift that God gave him for God's glory? When we sing in the choir are we always in the spirit? When we testify are we always in the spirit? No one is so spiritualyl minded that they they walk around in the spirit 24 hours a day. To be closed minded to a gift form God is self righteouness to me. Some sing gospel hymns, some sing contemporary gospel, some sing gospel rap that carries the same message to different audiences and a different beat. Praise dancing is giving God praise not matter how you look at it. That does not change the message of the gospel just the vessels and the method. What do you think?
