Is it ever correct to measure your present spouse by the standards of your former spouse?

Is it ever correct to measure your present spouse by the standards of your former spouse? Of course not. But unfortunately some Christian folk measure their relationships by what happened prior to marriage or some one they dating before marriage. This is the fastest way to cause your own marital problems. If you are who I am referring to, please stop and regroup. God never intended for us to have more than one mate to begin with, but sin messed up everything in the garden Satan began to talk to Eve's mind and caused her to doubt God. Satan uses the same tactics in marriages today and silly Christians listen and  yield to adultery and sin. It is time for men and women to live by God's standards and stop going to your ungodly friends and coworkers for advice about your marriage. Talk to me.....

You are right, we should never look to the world for advice or suggestions. The bible tells us in Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,(wicked) Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; We are commanded not to walk in that kind of counsel. I know that God has some true people for couples struggling in their relationship to talk too.
