The suffering of Jesus was not in vain! Looking back, Apostle Peter points to the perfect sacrifice of his Lord and Savior:

“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)

Peter saw both dimensions of the atonement of Jesus – salvation and healing! They were released about 2000 years ago and have been available to anybody since then. It is now up to us to receive salvation and healing freely!
