Minister Anita Dawn Britton – Bass was born in Lakenheath, England to CWO-4 Willie Britton and Joyce Britton Ellis. She was raised by her beloved grandparents Joseph and Inez Gaines in Columbus, OH. Anita was educated in the Columbus Catholic School System and graduated in 1986. Minister Bass earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources from Franklin University in 1991 then earned a certificate to teach in 1993. She was a kindergarten teacher in Columbus from 1995 until 2001. After having her first child Shiloh La – Raye in 2002 she began teaching prenatal care to the expectant teenagers in the Columbus Public School system and also to the expectant inmates in the Franklin County Dept of Corrections. When her husband was called to pastor United Missionary Baptist Church in 2003 they moved to Toledo. She went to work for Paul Laurence Dunbar Academy (now Northpointe Academy) where she is the State Compliance Coordinator and Office Manager. Lady Bass is now an esteemed member of The State of Ohio Education Management Information System (EMIS) Professionals. She also loves to work with the young mothers in our M.OM.E.A.S.E. (Mothers Offering Ministry Experiences and Support Everyday) group. She is currently the President of United’s Women’s Ministry. Lady Bass hopes to soon begin working on a Master’s of Divinity degree in Christian counseling. She is currently penning a book called “Why Ask HIM Why? (One Woman’s Journey)”. The book is chronicling her painful struggle and new understanding of her call by God following the loss of her and our Pastor’s infant son. Anita is also a member the Toledo Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. Minister Bass was licensed to preach by our pastor and now stands by her husband’s side ministering to our women. On June the 1st of this year Pastor Bass and Lady Anita will celebrate their 16th wedding anniversary. They have 4 children Robert GeneJr. (23) Shiloh La-Raye (10), Trinity Joi (7) Christian Joseph (deceased)
