Success idolatry: Is winning what motivates you at the deepest level?
Ministry idolatry: Do you use the pressure of ministry to make you walk with God?
Innovative idolatry: Does it matter to you that your ministry be considered unique?
Leader idolatry: Who, other than Christ, are you imaging?
In biblical times, God’s people were constantly tempted to mix worshipping the true God with worshipping a god they could see and touch.
The Lord repeatedly referred to idol worship as going after lovers.
In our secular society we are even less sophisticated.
Our preference for worshipping what we can see and touch, drives us to literally go after lovers, rather than the true God.

18And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
