MY CALLING & ELECTIONMy spiritual life and walk with God began in the year of 1966. I was a society woman, well known, proud and very prestigious. I was a mother of six small children, an immaculate housekeeper, and devoted wife. I received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and with Fire, and served in the Church of God In Christ as District Missionary and Hospitality President under the leadership of Superintendent, Elder S. K. Lampkin and Bishop/Overseer James Williams.
God began to deal with me in visions and dreams. One day I heard a melody from heaven and the angels began to sing, “Glory, Glory, Hallelujah, His Truth Is Marching On.” Then suddenly I heard the audible Voice of God speaking as the voice of many waters saying, “For you are a chosen vessel unto me! You will preach if it costs your life! You will preach the truth--you will stand up! Stand up, stand up, stand up, for my truth is marching on.” I didn’t quite understand it all, but as time went on everything began to unfold. It was a must for me to be in prayer service where the mothers and whosoever came would gather at the altar and travailed before God for salvation, revival, deliverance, and for a great move of God’s Spirit to break out in the midst of the people.
The Lord was calling me, but I was fighting the call. I had a dream about an accident involving an 18 wheeler going through a parking lot smashing all the cars and running into a stone wall. I prayed for God’s protection and guidance that lives would be spared. Three days later, I went downtown to the drugstore, and as I began to walk in the door of the drugstore I heard a great noise and a lot of banging. As I looked back an 18 wheeler was coming toward the drugstore out of control, running into a chain of cars in the parking area. As the truck continued running into the cars, my car was the last car the truck hit. There was an elderly woman walking toward the door and as the truck hit my car, it rammed my car through the stone wall, smashing the woman, killing her instantly. I began crying “Oh God!” Then the Lord spoke unto me saying, “What did I tell you to do?” Then I said, “Yes Lord!” The next day I turned in my resignation and fully began my mission, to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Many tried to convince me to wait and to stay, but I said, “I have a higher calling, I must go!
My ministry began during an era when they didn’t believe in women preachers, but nevertheless, God used me. I began doing street evangelism and street meetings, and prayer meetings. People would fall out under the anointing as I prayed for them. The Lord began using me in prophecy.
In 1970, Faith, Hope and Charity Deliverance Center, Inc. was founded and established. There have been many years of tribulations, fiery trials, temptations, sufferings and persecutions, and like Paul, I bear the marks in my body. “Oh that I may know Him in the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, that being pressed above measure the power is in the Glory and glorification comes with elevation and illumination--standing through the test of time.
