- Gregory Devon Franklin, Sr. is a native of Lawton, Oklahoma born February 5, 1961 to the late Cleo Franklin, Jr.& the late Clara Lavada Jackson-McHenry, the 9th child of 12 children, he attended the Lawton Public Schools. Started preaching November,1968 at the tender age of 7.5 years old, third generation Preacher in his family following in the footsteps in his maternal grandfather the Late Rev. Emmauel Matthew Jackson, Sr. and his maternal uncle the Late Rev. Marvin N. Jackson. He has two nephews that has accepted the calling making 4 generations of Preachers in his family. The Reverend Darwin D. McHenry, Sr., Pastor of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Lawton, Oklahoma and Elder Bobby Joe Mitchell, Jr., Youth Pastor of the Mitchell's Chapel Ministries, Wichita Falls, Texas.
Gregory Franklin was granted a Certicate of License to the Gospel Ministry in March, 1969 in The New Hope Baptist Church, Lawton, Oklahoma under the pastorate of the Late Reverend Sherman S. Simmons, He was granted a Certicate of Ordination to the Gospel Ministry in March, 1974. in The Greater First Baptist Church, Andarko, Oklahoma under the pastorate of The Reverend Vernon Winston, Sr. He was known as the Wonder Boy Preacher from Lawton, Oklahoma traveled the country from 1968-1979 preaching as a Youth Evangelist accompanied by his beloved mother. In July, 1979 was called to his first Pastorate , The Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Tatums, Oklahoma at the tender age of 18 years. He has served as Pastor of churches in Lawton, Oklahoma, Marshall, Plainview & Fort Worth, Texas,Augusta, Georgia and Buffalo, New York. He attended Bishop College, Dallas, Texas, Oklahoma Baptist School of Religion, Tatums, Oklahoma and American Baptist Theological Seminary Extension School, Augusta, Georgia. He has served in many community and ministerial capacities, Former Treasurer of the Baptist Ministers Conference of Augusta, Georgia, Former President of the Baptist Ministers Union of Marshall, Texas, Former President of the High Plains Ministers Alliance of Plainview, Texas, Former Parlmeniran of the Lawton Ministers' Alliance of Lawton, Oklahoma, Former Chairman of Evangelism of the Western Baptist District Association of Western New York, Former Chairman of The City-Wide Revival Committee of the Baptist Ministers' Conference of Buffalo, New York. Former Board Member of the Austin Height Community Center, Plainview, Texas. Former Executive Director of CRUCIAL Community Center (community based program) Buffallo, New York. & Former Board Member of Gospel Fest of Buffalo, New York.
Gregory D. Franklin, Sr. is the father of 2 Adult children, Gregory D. Franklin, Jr (29 years old). & Shonae Sherrice Franklin.(26 years old) a 2007 graduate of Prairie View A & M University, Prairie View, Texas.
He is currently the CEO of Gregory d Franklin, Sr., Ministries of Arlington, Texas, a national ministry that travel conducting Revivals, Conferences, Seminars, Reteats, Annual Days and etc.
