I'm a Minister of Music with an active music ministry in a Catholic church and the Church of God In Christ. I've found in today's world our Ministry must be focused on outreach and diversity. I have diversified my ministry so that through music I can have an holistic approach on lives. Music ministry should be an asset to the church and not a liability. I have found an avenue to create revenue and visibility for the church. Preachers need to allow Music Ministry to flow in the church and be inclusive to the entire vision of the Pastor's vision. Let me leave this, who would you rather have a musician, director, or a Minister of Music? Those these are labels, however,each has an accountability and responsibilty to God and the church.

You said something true; taking and not depositing, that's why I encourage Pastors to bring in musician who are sold out to Ministry. Then let the musician's ministry work to enhance the ministry of the total church. I can tell you, 30 years at St. Monica has been great. I can see and smell the fruits of my labor. I thank God the leadership never tried to take the my ministry away from me but they supported the music ministry and allowed my gift, education and wisdom to be inclusive in the growth of the church. I'll call you and discuss doing some drum studio work; if available.

Yeah, I felt we are hindering his potential to make enough money to support himself. So I encouraged him to find a place that will pay him 3 or 4 hundred dollars, if I could afford to make him just a musician nad have a minister of music too, then it would work, but I need someone who is going to be apart of the leadership of the church and become a part of helping us build rather than just taking and not depositing. Yes let's do talk, I do enjoy playing my hope is to find someone else to do it though. My new number is (816) 612-0699

Hey Melvin,

I hope you can find Rufus a more suitable gig, so that he can make a living. It just didn't work out for us, basiscally because of what you said in your above statement about, musician, director, minister of music. It is so true. Much love for the bro though, I just felt like I was stifling him. Well, just help him he's a good dude. Be blessed.
