- Arthur R. Barnes was born in Brooklyn, NY. He is a proud father of two young adults Arthur and Amanda. He is a former H.S. dropout, drug dealer, gang leader, street terrorist and menace to society. Until God called Him out of darkness.
They have given him the nickname “the Firestorm” for his preaching fiery messages of present truth. He has been one of the most sort-after preachers within the Northeastern Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and has preached also within the Greater New York Conference of Seventh-day Adventist.
He has preached in over 80 Adventist churches in the Northeastern and Greater NY area, worked in revivals, weeks of prayers, and evangelistic For 18 years, he has been an in demand preacher and ever ready evangelist.
In 2010, he was installed as the Associate Pastor of New York United Sabbath Day Adventist Church (Where Amazing Things Happen) 145-151 110th Street Bet. Adam Clayton Powell and Malcom X. in Harlem NY.
In January of 2011, Pastor Barnes helped spearhead a Biggest Loser campaign at church to get himself, members and the community healthier. He has lost thirty pounds so far. His motto is lead by example. He then teamed up this year with the Ryan Center Medical Facility of Manhattan Valley to offer to the community free H.I.V. testing, free blood pressure and diabetes screening all summer at New York United SDA church.
He is about to launch Operation Y.E.S. Youth Empowerment Systems at his church. It is a ministry to reach out to at-risk young men and women so they don’t get caught up in the streets. He is also a chaplain in training at New York Theological Seminary who ministers to youth in detention facilities in New York City. He is also a part of Union Theological Seminary’s Engaging the Powers program that is an interfaith project for ministers from various denominational backgrounds that speaks to the ails of society and how the church can help the community and stand up and speak out against poverty, incarceration, homelessness, Race and Raciailization, just to name a few.
God has richly blessed him in various areas of his life, including the business world. He has a background in advertising and marketing magazines. He is a writer, copywriter and a publicist. Arthur Barnes is a research expert and relationship expert and developer of the seminar “How to Make Any Relationship Sizzle.”
He has written and published works in the area of business profiles, networking, African American issues, Christianity, relationships and dating, writing, and self-help. You may have read some of his work in African Profiles Magazine, African Lifestyles Magazine, Self Growth.com, The Writer’s Gazzette, and creator of several blogs covering everything from Relationships, Christianity, Movies, Self-Help and Inspirational.
