Pastor James Smuthers is the proud pastor of Serenity International Ministries headquartered in Houston, Texas, the place "where the peace of God lives". He is also the founder and chief editor of Fresh Wind e-Newsletter, an email ministry publication of Serenity International Ministries.
Pastor Smuthers is a pastor with a global mission, which is to bring a Fresh Word with a Fresh Anointing to reFresh the faith of God's people. He believes that the body of Christ should be empowered to live a life of peace in God. His preaching focuses on empowering believers spiritually, encouraging them emotionally and enlightening them educationally.
Prior to his roles as founder, pastor and chief editor, Pastor James has served as a Praise and Worship Leader at New Home Full Gospel Ministries, New Orleans, LA, where he accepted his calling to preach the gospel under the leadership of Pastor Samuel R. Blakes. He then went on to Beacon Light International Ministries, New Orleans, LA and Houston, TX locations and served several ministries including Ministerial Alliance under the leadership of Bishop Darryl S. Brister. He was ordained as an Elder through The Association of the Cornerstone International Ministries and released to pastor under the leadership of Apostle Henry Norton. Pastor James is also getting ready to launch “JSM Ministries”, a media outreach ministry of Serenity International Ministries.
He is committed to serving the people of God in the "Spirit of Excellence".

When I read your BIO "WHEW!" you have done a lot and that's great. It's nice to see people fulfilling the call of God on thier lives. I was born and raised in the church and I've seen a lot and have had my share. I strayed away because of things that were happening in the church because I took my eye off of God and placed it on man and that was a big mistake. But now, I feel God is calling me to fulfill his purpose in my life and I can't run anymore or hide in the back of the church and warm the bench. It's time for me to come forth and do all that God has called me to do. Your words are very encouraging and inspiring and I pray that you will continue doing God's will serving the people of God in the "Spirit of Excellence" because so many have lost what it really means to do this.
