About Me: (Ministry Info, Hobbies, Fav. Music etc.)
July 4, 1977 marked the beginning of life for Jay Derrick Baker. Born and raised in Raeford, NC, to now Pastor J D and Essie Baker, he is the oldest of three siblings. Pastor Baker was blessed to have the word of God and fundamental values of Christianity instilled in him at an early age. Straying from those teachings, Pastor Baker went through a number of cataclysmic events in his life including incarceration, as well as being forced out of the military. During this dispensation, it was in the atmosphere of drugs, alcohol, and violence, that Pastor Baker gave his life to God at the age of 22. He was a product of the streets, consumed with thoughts of murder and anger, but Proverbs 22:6 proves itself through him as it is written, “Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Pastor Baker is living proof that God’s word will accomplish what it is sent out to do.Refusing to accept limitations in God, Pastor Baker continued to pursue a deeper understanding of God’s word. Reaching out to the streets that once claimed him, it is his testimony that began to change the lives of those held captive by the same dangerous lifestyle he once knew. On January 13, 2001, Pastor Baker accepted God’s call into ministry. He was immediately recognized as a trail blazer, and demon chaser as he provoked deliverance, and promoted a holy lifestyle. In the summer of the year 2005, he was ordained for the office of a ruling elder. In July 2006, Pastor Baker accepted God’s call to lead His people. He then incorporated Rhema Covenant Fellowship Deliverance Ministries. On June 10, 2007, he became the senior pastor of Daylight Covenant Fellowship Deliverance Ministries, Inc. The anointing bestowed in his life continues to elevate and mature him in the spirit. Healing, miracles, the word of wisdom, and the word of knowledge are very evident in his ministry. Equipped with a vision, his focus is “piercing the darkness, and illuminating lives without judgment, of people that have been battered and bruised by church people that have no genuine adamancy for the kingdom of God.” Pastor Baker continues to touch the lives of many: no matter how strained or fruitful their relationship with God may be. He is completely submissive to God’s will, and refuses to compromise his values and beliefs to fit society’s likings. Beside his grace, stands his wife, Prophetess Kimberly D. Baker. Married Dec. 24, 1999; Pastor Baker is blessed to have a wife that shares his vision and compliments the gifts that God has bestowed in his life. They have two children, Jamaria, and Jaleal. Completely humbled before God, Pastor Baker has proven his gifts which have made room for him, and continues to ensure that God receives all of the glory in his life.
“I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment.” –Proverbs 8:20
