About Me: (Ministry Info, Hobbies, Fav. Music etc.)
Henry V. Harrison a Native New Yorker and a son of Harlem, began singing praises to His Lord at the age of three at the Lagree Baptist Church, where his family were members and his mother taught Sunday Sunday. His childhood upbringing is the perfect setting for what he is today. The influence of Christian parents and a godly Grandmother was strong and when only seven years old, he gave his life to Christ. Growing up in the ghetto of Harlem, New York developed in Henry a genuine awareness of his calling to complete faith in the keeping power of God to meet every circumstance in life.

By age 10, his home church, Lagree Baptist Church, located on 125th Street in Harlem, licensed him to preach the gospel and exercise his gift. And that he did, preaching and singing everywhere he was invited. At Youth Meeting Services, and Sunday mornings and evenings, he was known as the “Boy Evangelist”. He ran revivals in South Carolina in the summer resulting in many youths and adults accepting Christ. Later after attending Shelton College and Philadelphia Bible College, he chose to reside in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and work with a newly formed company in religious mass media, which he credited for many musical dramatic endeavors. He began to travel and recorded his first album, “So Be It” under Manna Music Label.

While there he was involved in heavy dramatic endeavors. Henry V. Harrison performed in the musicals: “Carousal”, “Ben Hur”, “Arnie’s Holiday”, “Lillie’s of the Field” and “The Robe” just to name a few. He worked with artists such as Andre Crouch, Dale Evans Rogers, Pat Boone, Bishop Nat Townsley Gospel Jubilee Revue, Marina, The Gents of New York, The Martin Luther King Jr. Fellowship Choir, and ministries such as Campus Crusade for Christ and the National Religious Broadcasters. He recorded three albums and made his film debut in “First Fruits” which tells the story of early Moravian missions to the Caribbean.

Pastor Harrison is now in his 25th year as Senior Pastor of the Historic Baptist House of Prayer in Harlem, New York. Presenting the truth in love, Reverend Harrison has carried the message of Jesus across the United States in churches, parks, high schools and the Pentagon. His presentation is always brilliantly creative and spiritually motivating. He's been listed in Madison’s Who’s Who Of Professional Men and Women, receipient of a Commendation from the City of New York Office of the Comptroller, William C. Thompson, Jr., and receipient of a City Council Citation from Council Member Inez E. Dickens.

He is the Co-Producer and Co-Host of the Gospel Showcase cable TV show of the Baptist House of Prayer and volunteer Chaplain at Harlem and North General Hospitals. And in December 2007, he traveled with Jeeminn Lee and Friends in a "Gospel for 4000 Koreans" in Los Angeles, California.

Pastor Harrison’s love for God and his commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ is translated in his love for people everywhere. Most recently he shared God’s love through Gospel music in Norway, Italy, Japan, Greece and in the last 4 years preached 18 weeks in Uganda, East Africa, which led to the request by Pastor Sam Kamala to name his church in Uganda, The Baptist House of Prayer in Kampala, Uganda, East Africa, where Pastor Harrison serves as Overseer. Pastor Henry V. Harrison has also been presented with a Certificate of Merit and appreciation with an “Open Door To Africa…”

“The Lord is Blessing me Right Now!” Sings Harrison and when you hear him preach and sing you’ll Be Blessed Too.
