Shelia Burris-Buchanan is a native of Rock Hill, South Carolina, which is where she currently resides with her 17 year old daughter. Since childhood, she has known that she was destined to write and direct. At the age of 17, she became a born-again Christian and turned her professional attention to the things of God and ministry as a whole. The youngest of sixteen siblings, Shelia learned what it took to raise her daughter, as well as her 23 and 20 year old sons to be great men and women of God.

Throughout her school years and into college, Shelia continued her love for writing and theatre, becoming a Performing Arts Major with a minor in business. Over the past several years, she has written and produced such dynamic, soul-winning musical plays as “Jesus In The ‘Hood”, Trying to Do Right, When I Wanna Do Wrong”, “If I Could Choose My Family”, “Miracles!”, “The Birth of a Savior”, and many more. Today, she is an award-winning, born again playwright, poet, screenwriter, producer and director. In addition to writing other plays, she is currently working to complete a series of young adult novels for urban youth, a Christian adult fiction novel, several inspirational non-fiction books and picture books for children. She is also an inspirational speaker and is developing a series of seminars on small business start-up.
